This is a great group of General Motors cars! Two convertibles, two hardtops, two Chevrolets, one Oldsmobile, and one Buick. They can be found for sale here on Craigslist with an asking price of $120,000. Located in central California, it’s unknown if the seller would be willing to part with the cars individually or if they are only sold together. For anyone that wants an instant collection of really cool cars, you’d be hard pressed to find a better start than these four!
Unfortunately, there isn’t a lot of information in the ad. The green car is a 1971 Oldsmobile W-30 clone. The Camaro is from 1969 and is “rotisserie built” with a 502 cubic inch big block engine! The Chevelle is a 1970 convertible and is a Super Sport clone.
The Buick is a 1987 Grandnational with 43,000 miles. The seller says it smokes a bit, but they haven’t diagnosed the problem. The interior looks like it’s in great shape and none of these cars appear to need much attention.
This collection looks awesome to me. Think, you could instantly own four of the most popular GM muscle cars ever built. What’s your opinion? If you could only choose one out of the group, which one would it be?
The Buick isn’t very interesting to me. The two clones are nice but are pretending to be something that they aren’t. All would be fun to own but I’m really feeling for the overstuffed Camaro if I had to choose one of the four! Nice collection though!
Clone or not, that green Olds speaks to me. But then I love green. It’s the one you’re least likely to see an exact copy of (clone, he punned badly) if you take it to any shows.
Is this guy kidding? Am I the only one who does not see 120,000 value in clones plus a Buick that smokes and needs paint? He says the Olds is a W30 clone but says nothing about it even being a real 442. A Cutlass? The Chevy is not an SS? Did it start out as a 6cyl? They are clones, come on.
Reminds me a favorite magazine ad from my youth.
Clearly, the smoky Buick is the Holy Grail out of the bunch for the serious car collector…
Ahhhh The dreaded “clone”. Beautiful cars but, clones. Attack of the Clones! For $120k?
Pretty cars, but I don’t see $120,000 in there either.
Bob
I like the Camaro
Well todays market is full of clones because real versions of these particular clones are out & I mean way out of most common folks budget. So I’m figuring thats what he’s basing his price on. Although I must agree it still seems quite high for what he has there for sale. If they were to be sold seperately they wouldn’t bring anywhere near that asking price.
No Pontiac?? No dice.
The Buick is my least favorite, 80’s junk IMHO. The other three are all clones of one sort or another. Without additional information, my choice would be the green Olds, assuming it has a W30 engine upgrade. Then the Chevelle, then the Camaro. I’m in California, so I can get a lot of use from convertibles. And where’s my Pontiac?!! I’d sell off the Buick if I bought the set and find a 70 Buick GS, clone of course. If these were truly factory built and not clones, they’d sell well north of 100 G’s each!
Wow…. GN .80’s junk fo’ sure! Never understand the appeal of those except to someone who grew up when they were new. As for the rest? Meh….slushboxes and not oem…I get it..real stuff is out of reach for most of us now…but really…………120 grand on Craigslist?
Maybe it’s a joke.
4 cars….$120k. All clones except the grand national…. so…$26k each and $40 for the Buick? that’s a big nope for me. This is one of the rare cases that you could absolutely build these the way you want for less than the asking price. The wild card is the grand national but they are all over the place price-wise.
The color of the Olds is about as right as you could get for that year, make and model. Too bad no one tries to find the “right” color for a Grand National.
Clone, Clone, Clone, Smoking engine, bla, bla, bla, nasty wheels on the Cutlass, I’m thinking 50-60k at the very most. These are cars that would be at a small time, small town auction, or even on Beach Cars, call Ted (Vernon) and see what he’s give you……….35k for all of them.
Definitely the 69 camaro, with that big block… You’re talking about a monster.
Two convertibles are nice beach cruisers, sure to attract loads of attention. The tire melting 502 Camaro would be a handful an sure to attract plenty of attention too, some of which would be undesirable. As for the GN, well…those guys were like a cult. A slight nod off the head if two passed each other on a two lane highway, as for me it would be my very last choice.
First choice?….the Camaro just because it’s not a convertible.
Nice collection of GM cars that you can drive and not feel guilty about it. Will definitely get the looks.
Is it worth it? Not as a collection. To do a sale that way, you need to drop that price significantly. At least a 40K drop, and then negotiate from there.
