Six Pack Special: 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T SE

1970 Dodge Challenger RT SE

This isn’t just any old Dodge. This is a 440-6 powered R/T SE! In Mopar speak that means that it’s a very well-endowed muscle car. You can read more about what made the R/T SE so special here on Hemmings. The 440 Six Pack may not be as desirable as the Hemi today, but with similar performance and a lower price tag, it’s probably the one you would have bought when it was new. Throw a floor shifted 4-speed into the mix and you had an equation for fun. Other than one respray, it’s claimed to be original. The seller of this rare beast also claims that it’s a two owner car which has only covered 26k miles since new. I would want some sort of documentation to back that up, but even if the claims turn out to be less than true, this is still one impressive machine. The top bid here on eBay reflects that fact – it’s currently over $60k with only an hour left and the reserve is not even met!

it is worth between 75-90k. But only with documentation. IMO

We will keep an eye on this one to see if it gets relisted.

Me thinks the classic car bubble may have burst. This car should have sold for way more than the top bid. The seller may need to sell it on another venue if I am wrong.

If the seller wants top dollar, why doesn’t he fix the sagging headliner?

One thing I can’t find is the trim code for the rear spoiler. As with 427 corvettes, there are more out there posing than were ever made. I never had a problem with mopar dash tachs. But this one may not be working. The sun tach is vintage.

Did all of MOPARs come from the factory with the brake and fuel lines crossing each other without any protection from wear between them?
Speaking from a GM perspective, their fuel and brake lines has a spiral wrap of wire that were bent to hug the frame without the lines over lapping one another as this car has.
They also have more mounting straps to keep them secured.

I attached the photo that I am referring too. Their post would not allow to save the large image but hopefully it will post here.

There is no way the mileage is correct, look at the condition of the drivers seat and the carpet.
