Special Edition Survivor: 1976 MG Midget

m1

This charming little MG Midget find was sent in by Jim S — thanks, Jim! Looking very original apart from an incorrect respray to the Rostyle wheels, incorrect mirrors and a set of speakers, this special edition MG was originally decorated to commemorate the 50th anniversary of MG. The seller states it has only 28,000 miles and has documentation backing it up. It’s located in Normal, Illinois and is for sale here on eBay. The ad has some nice pictures, including closeups of the original paint; it really does look nice in the closeups, with only a few minor chips and scratches. The turn signal/horn issues the seller mentions are fairly easy to sort, with new switches available for $35 if you’re unable to get the original fixed. What a great condition to find a little British roadster!

    $5900,
    And gone.

A lot of fun for not many $. Not a fan of the bumpers either, but so much more would be spent resurrecting a chrome bumper car…

I really Dislike when these wheels are poorly, half assed or painted with some artistic licensure. They only look good the way they came from the factory…like a Corgi WhizzWheel!
I remember many a decent Capri spoiled by such acts.
When I was younger, had more creativity, patience and time, I painstakingly repainted my Datsun B-210’s funky honey comb hubcaps. And they looked awesome.
