We featured this 1954 Mercedes as an Exclusive a while back, but we were a little leery because it was located in Australia. We know that we have readers in all parts of the world, but we weren’t sure if we had enough reach to actually sell a project like this in the land down under. Well, within two weeks we received an email from Glenn announcing that the listing had been a huge success and that the car was sold!
After having such a good experience with the Mercedes, Glenn decided to even list his tractor! We want to thank Glenn for giving us have the chance to sell his treasures. If any of you have an unrestored classic or an unfinished project that you would like to find a good home for, please consider listing it here on site. We have a dedicated following of enthusiasts who are constantly on the hunt. So if your find is priced right, it will likely move very quickly!
Good for you guys!
Well, I kept reading to see where the car ended up, but never found the answer. Did it ship to the U.S., sell to someone in Australia, go back to Germany, or ? Ron…
hi, I sold it to an Australian who is currently restoring it. I had about 5 different inquiries across Australia and ended up selling it to a gu about 30 minutes drive from me! I also had several inquiries from the US and one from the Middle East. I hope to post some photos when it is restored.
There are plenty of readers in Australia I assure you!
Derek:
That was not the issue in my post. You might want to read it again. That’s a fairly rare Mercedes and I was asking if it sold to someone in Australia; or to someone in the U.S.; or maybe someone in Germany, etc. Thanks, Ron.
I think just meant that we have lots of readers in Australia, that’s all. Good question about where it though. I’ll ask Glenn.
you are a great place to advertise. I have bought 3 that all where listed just as craigslist finds. I just followed up and bought them. I always wish to follow up and let you all know what I GOT AND WHAT BECAME OF THEM . All good deals, I will do better at that since they all where very collectable.
We live to hear from our readers when they purchase a car we have featured. Please be sure to send in those updates!
For Glenn: congratulations on the sale of a unique car, and to someone so close by. Look forward to the pictures when the restoration is finished. Ron…
