The Coolest Truck? Lincoln Continchero

00202_9AE7OpV8XJS_600x450

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen one of these before and we always get a kick out of seeing these odd creations. Listed here on craigslist and parked in Ottumwa, Iowa, this 1966 Lincoln Continental Flower Car is priced at $10k or possibly any interesting trade. This car/pick up was built by Hines Motor Company. It’s said to be a 33,500 mile unit with a 462 big block!

The fit and trim look to be in order, although the paint looks a bit odd to us.

We are not sure how many of the hubcaps are sitting in the rear storage area. Recent work includes a new starter, solenoid, battery cables, voltage regulator, fuel pump, and fuel filter. The gas tank was full of varnished gas when discovered. He put some new fuel in and started the engine several times. He plans on continuing to work on the truck and as he does more the price will increase.

There is a crack in the dash over the speaker and some other small issues inside, but overall it isn’t too bad. These are few and far between. The owner says he would love to trade and is open to offers. Could this be your future parts hauler?

Cheers,

Robert

This thing is several layers of awesome. But I have to ask, what’s the deal with the dual radios? Is it to play soft muzac for the flowers while you’re rocking out to Offspring?

I think one of them is the climate control.

Not dual radios. I’ve had a couple of these, and while the controls to the right of the steering wheel are the actual radio, the controls to the left are for the heat/A/C system.

This is my 1977 Town Coupe that I hope to finish converting this winter, I like the Hines car but I’m not sure about the way the bed tapers up in the back yet it would be better for actually hauling stuff.

Chad, come on…….. why don’t you spend a few bucks on a detail and put the
hubcaps on??? Then we can enjoy the beauty of this car!!!

There is a weird cult following for these cars. You might check out some of the Hurse clubs and post in their forums. An intact flower car is pretty rare and highly desirable.
