The third-generation Toyota Supra is one of the more overlooked eras of the company’s pioneering sports car, and this gorgeous MK3 definitely deserves a look. It’s not only shockingly clean, but it’s also the most desirable with the turbocharged inline-six paired to a five-speed manual. Given the car’s popularity as a grand tourer, many were equipped with automatics, making this one a find not only for having just over 12,000 miles but also for its three pedals. I have a soft spot for these as a neighbor from my childhood neighborhood who happened to be a bishop in our church also drove a MK3 Supra in turbocharged form. His was the automatic, but I always got a kick out of it regardless that one of the local religious leaders had a sweet spot for Japanese performance cars. This example is stunning from all corners, wearing a gorgeous shade of blue-green pain, unmarked alloy wheels, and perfect glass.
The interior is more of the same and looks just as good as its low mileage would suggest. The black leather and jade exterior are a striking combo, and so much nicer than the typical whites and grays this generation Supra is usually clad in. I’m not sure why this era isn’t more loved, aside from the fact that it immediately precedes one of the most recognizable Japanese sports cars of the 90s, the fourth-generation Supra that lit up the big screens in Fast & The Furious.
Still, as current bidding shows, collectors and Toyota enthusiasts are not sleeping on the best examples any longer. This era of Supra is right at home eating up interstate miles or hustling along backroads. It’s leaps and bounds ahead of its predecessors, not only in sheer performance but also comfort and quality. The incredible condition, great colors, and right options will likely help this example crest the $20K mark before it’s over.

These are really nice cars and I bet the market will take off on these when there is a resurgence. I actually prefer this styling over the generation that came after.
The market does not need a resurgence for a car like this. If the ad pans out as accurate it’s nice enough and rare enough that buyers will act now rather than let a car of this quality get away.

Original ebay seller should be giving lessons on how to present a car for sale. I’m a little surprised that 3rd gen Supra’s are this cheap. I’ve seen 4th gen cars over 6 figures. This bad boy is already over $25G’s. Going to watch it to see where it settles.
The 4th gens r worth more because they were faster……and lighter too I believe.
the mk4 is only worth more because of the tune-ability of the 2jz along with the street cred that came with the fast and furious movies

I had one of the very fist ones to hit the dealership.it was prod.date 6/86. It was to be the dealer demo for the General manager at another dealership that I didn’t work at. He didn’t know I was a auto tech for another dealer and I knew all the ins and outs of how it works. That was a fun car to drive. Black with grey int., 5 speed. I had a guy in a Corvette riding my ass going over the hill hwy 9 out of the S.FBay area. I said ,OK Dude,let’s see what ya got. I lost him!

Wow, I have never seen a Supra in this color. I really like it. These were great, fast touring cars that were definitely ahead of their time. Unfortunately this one looks like its destined be an investment grade garage queen forever. I’d love to find a driver’s quality example for a weekend driver
Beautiful car, I had 1987 7mgte burgundy heavy modified one. Very relible car after you replace head gasket wity quality one vs Toyotas. It was crappy and under torque from the factory. Cars where overheating and Toyota never admitted and recall them.
