At first glance this 1968 Triumph Spitfire doesn’t look like anything special, but after further inspection we feel that it is well worth its asking price of $988. The body looks solid and the sale even includes a few new parts to help kick off the restoration. Plus you can feel good buying it because it supports the Idaho Youth Ranch which helps abused and neglected children. This project is located in Boise, Idaho and is listed for sale here on craigslist.

This car is rough around the edges, but we have a feeling that it would clean up well. There is minimal rust and most of what we can see looks like surface rust. That might even be the original paint. Don’t expect to receive many details about the car’s past though because the place selling it just receives cars as donations.

The seller mentions that the sale includes a bunch of new parts including a new carpet kit, roll bar, clutch, and more. The interior is the worst area on this car so any interior pieces will be very appreciated by the next owner. Again, a much needed cleaning might do wonders here too.

We are not sure what it is going to take to get this engine spitting again, but it does look like the last owner may have replaced the radiator and never finished hooking it up again. With a box of extra parts and a few things removed here and there, it is obvious that this was someone’s project car. We just hope that they lost steam and that there are no major issues here that may have justified its donation.

A rust free spitfire is a rare sight so this one may be worth the grand if you are in the area. Parts are cheap and these are easy to work on so there are not too many negatives here. Plus you will be helping out a worthwhile cause. Just make sure you can fit behind the wheel because these can be a little snug.
