Yes, that’s a vintage Datsun roadster peeking out from the barn (nicely floored barn, I might add). Thanks to Robert R for this find, located in Lancaster, Ohio and offered for sale here on craigslist. The seller had plans to install a Ford V-8 and C4 automatic, although the original engine is in place. There is some troubling rust, but keep the asking price of $1,500 in mind when you look. I think it’s the pushrod version of the engine, which I think means it’s a SP311 or SPL311 with the 1600 cc four-cylinder, but I’ll bet we have an expert reading this that can shed some light on this in case I’m wrong. The condition and availability of the trim and lights might make a difference on this one; let us know if you inquire further!

One of these is on my list of potential cars to own. Absolutely love these cars.

Yes a 1600 SPL311. Only problem is the rust as body panels are not made so would need to make your own or find used. Fun cars for sure we have one stock 1600 and then mine has a 94 2400cc KA from a 240sx in it. A much better and just about bolt in swap then the ford for sure. Makes for one fast and reliable hot rod and looks like it is stock when you open the hood.

Yup. Spl311 1600cc. Rust has gotten to this one. No pics of the interior. If the trim is gone it’s not worth it. Glad he sold it before ruining it.

Rusty around the bottom and wheel arches, but is probably worth the asking for the parts, especially if the 75K mileage is true. It might even be worth the asking to fix the body since these are appreciating and there always seem to be cheap hulks from the Southwest that could donate panels.

But you have to assume the worst about this body because the seller won’t take the tarp off and roll the car out of the shed into the light of day.
