If you “need” a low mileage fire truck then this could be for you! Here’s a 1967 Mercedes Benz Sprinter 408G listed here on craigslist in Port Hueneme, California. The seller is asking $18k, which seems a bit high, but then again when will you ever find another rig this cool?
There are only 33,000 kilometers (20K miles) on this cool ride. You will get a 4 cylinder diesel mated to a 4 speed gearbox with seating for 10 and/or lots of gear.
This unit also has a water pump, sirens, spotlight, ladders and of course some flashing lights. There is lots of storage space available in this unit so you could turn this into a RV and do a road trip with your family and/or band.
If you pick this unit up you will most likely have the only one in the area where you reside and you could have lots of fun at local shows!
Price is a little steep.
These are not very common anymore, but neither are they rare.
Mercedes had pretty much the market covered with mid-size trucks and with a few hundred cities in Germany, every Fire department had at least one of these and they lasted for decades, pampered and driven very little.
Is it diesel or gas! I find two different listings with one each?!?
