It’s fitting that this 911 Turbo flachbau is for sale in Miami, possibly the best town for an extremely 80s vehicle like a slantnose. The combination of the wildly flared 911 body with the optional raked nose and pop-up headlights – not to mention the side strakes in the body – put this 911 Turbo is another realm altogether, both in terms of exclusivity and eye-popping looks. This example is even more impressive with just under 44,000 miles on the clock. Find it here on eBay with a $157,500 Buy-It-Now.
The color-matched Fuchs wheels really set this example over the top, and why not? If you’re going to drive a car like this, there’s little point in being subtle. The body shows extremely well, even better than the already-low miles would suggest. The Turbos all received the wider rear end and excessive whale-tail spoiler, and while the side strakes may seem garish to some, try finding a European tuner car from the 80s that didn’t have them.
The seller points out that the slantnose was a $25,000 option when performed by the factory; of course, like any plastic surgery job, you could always find a back-alley bodyshop willing to do the job for less. The seller further claims it’s one of only 908 factory slantnoses ever made, which is entirely likely given how rarely they show up for sale. I’m actually surprised the number wasn’t lower. The interior features mint condition black leather seats with red piping, just in case you forgot what the exterior color was.
The engine bay looks impressively clean, and the seller says it hasn’t been enhanced in any way, remaining 100% as the factory intended. The ride height looks a bit low to me, so perhaps a previous owner kept it OEM while re-setting the suspension to European-spec standards, as those cars were delivered with a bit less ground clearance. Overall, this is as good as it gets if you want a 911 that reeks of the era in which it was made, and while the price is high, the miles are low – and the exclusivity factor is through the roof.
It’s a really great car.
I’d like to see the barn this came out of.
Does anyone have a cigarette that I can borrow? LOL
As a child who grew up in the 80s this car and the Lamborghini Countach were on every wall of my bedroom, and for good reason. CARS LIKE THIS JUST SCREAM SPEED! 😀😀😀😀😀
va va la boom ! heart beating power !
I was in Miami in 1982 on I 95 and I white one these beauties went by…Guess what the license plate read “SNOW MAN” This one posted looks worth the investment.
Ole’ Snow Man liked to live life below the radar. Bb You know, stay low key.. Don’t attract any unwanted attention. He and his neighbor… Tony Montana
Wow, there’s a blast from the past! I knew the “Snow Man”, and believe it or not his income came from owning a bunch of snowcone stands. Pretty good blues guitarist, too.
Haven’t thought about Ken in years, he now lives in Thailand.
We must have cut those quarter vents in at least two dozen 930’s at my shop. There was a kit you could buy, all steel. We had stacks of factory 930 side rocker covers and about a half dozen pairs of factory 930 fenders. When the owners had the slant nosed conversions done they would just ask us to get rid of the old parts. We would sell some here and there. Now a nice factory 930 front fender is a grand or more.
What you drove when you outgrew your mullet and discovered pastel colored clothing.

I have no idea, is this really worth $157K?
No, unless it is still packed with certain illegal substances.
That is a pretty nice looking car, the turbo’s we’re extremely fast cars, this one being an 88 did they have their boost relief problems worked out by this time? The early 911 turbos smoked a lot of inexperienced drivers who got into the turbo at the wrong time. You know the 911 is the most timeless car I have ever known of in my life been going for almost 50 years and is as strong now as it was when it came out. It is the car that defined PORSCHE from the time it came out. Is the car worth that price? I would say that it’s very likely!!
It appears to be okay? Why not buy a newer one? I don’t know what makes it so special really, except the low production number?
Value comes in its rarity. Try to find one with ultra low miles in pristine condition. You’ll see what I mean. The slantnose was a small segment of the 930’s. It had a big reaction to its styling when it came out. Its just a bad ass car.. even to today
Its relevant. It’s still a mega head turner.
The new ones all look the same. There’s too little exterior styling distinction between a Carerra and a 911 Turbo S.
Now a 930 slantnose. That doesn’t look at all like a base model 911 did.
I understand all that but the price I think is out of line! Just my opinion! I have been looking at some 911 turbos lately from Cenepa out of Calli!
I much prefer the older Porsches to newer models personally. Much more character and more solidly built.
A modern Porche reminds me of being in an Audi.
SPOILER ALERT!!! STANDARD CORVETTE GUY DISCLAIMER AHEAD!!!! STOP READING NOW IF YOU BELIEVE ANY PORSCHE IS WORTH THE ASKING PRICE !!!!
I will take my $157,000 to Van Bortel Corvette in Rochester (Mendon) NY and drive off in a 2019 ZR1 Corvette. Then I will stop at Canadaiqua National Bank and deposit the $30,000 I saved by not buying a Bratwurst Edition Porsche.
I feel sorry for you my friend! I would invest into a newer Posche! Never on a worthless piece of fiberglass! LOL, just sayin!
Firstly they charge $127,000 for a Corvette? Surely not.
To buy a modern Corvette rather than a piece of art like this is like turning down a Monet and buying a JJ Adams. (Check him out, he is an interesting artist)
However, each to their own ..
2019 ZR1 performance figures:
0-60mph 2.8 seconds
0-100mph 6.0 seconds
1/4 mile 10.6 seconds @ 134 mph
Top speed 212mph.
$127,000
Each to his own, indeed.
I apologize sirs. On second thought I have decided to save even more of my hard earned money and drop $40,000 USD on a 1995 Corvette ZR-1 that will also outperform the Braunschweiger Edition Porsche. My banker will love me.
I love 911’s but this redesign I never cared for.
Hintern hasslich, indeed.
I bought Porsches when I was younger having owned a 928S4 and 2 different 911s one was all wheel drive, Porshes are a car in many ways all their own, iff you know what I mean.
Well a while back I wanted a new car and I just couldn’t get past the price of the new Type S Carrera, so I started looking and ended up buying a new Z06 in 08, I loved the 427, in fact loved everything except the traction control. A couple years ago I bought a 16 Z06, I found a Couple. That rewrote the software for the car it’s now putting out well over 700 hp, it doesn’t discolor the pipes because it’s so rich with fuel. My Z06 is a very fast vehicle and I love it in every way, but it’s NOT a Porsche and nor will it hold it’s value as well as a Porsche, but then it was 100k less than my Z06 option!!
You totally understand what I am saying without me going into detail! I will end up buying one as a investment and put it away for my grandson when I close my eyes for the last time!
I never liked the look of these cars. That whale tail is just damn ugly. Don’t really care for the rest of it either, styling wise.
Brumos Porsche slant-noses. Pick a race venue in the 80’s. Not even John Greenwood’s hideous Vettes could stay with them. Ever.
And that means squat today. The 80’s have been gone for a while now.
