Mopar muscle cars can go for big money if they are the right car with the right specs. This Charger looks rough and the lack of a title would scare me away, but over a dozen bids have been placed so maybe it’s worth our attention? The price isn’t crazy yet, but there’s a lot of attention for such a ratty project. It’s listed here on eBay with no reserve and is ending today.
With only two photos and no details about the car’s condition, this seems like a very expensive gamble. According to the seller, it did leave the factory with a 383 V8 and a 727 automatic. They also state it has a “muncie rear”. Hmm… The seller may not know exactly what they have, but I’m afraid potential buyers don’t either. Do you think this could really be a good starting point?
That’s a rusty shed. I’d far rather have the black Model A; it’s more use as a car, too.
A “good starting point” for what?
A Dukes of Hazzard jump car.
A huge money pit…
@Dirk. A classic car scrapyard!
“Right hand drive”? Really???
@Dirk. Looks like a LHD to me.
Its only worth whatever the scrap yard will give you for it. Junk. It need to be crushed.
This is a G0G model, meaning a 318 car originally. It’s not worth the $6K someone has bid thus far. It’s probably a $2000 vehicle at this point, to be honest. The sheet metal work alone is going to be $20-30K, done properly. A 318 G0G car is not worth that much. (I know, I’ve owned them.)
Jesse, the seller does not say that it left the factory with a 383 and a 727, he says it HAS a 383 and a 727. Pretty big difference.
$6K is way over the top for this car.
Yikes. Lack of information looks to be a tactic to draw in buyers. He posted as a 69 to get interest than admits its a 70. Buyer beware.
According to all par.com the VIN (GOG) decodes as:
G — 318 2 bbl V8
0 — 1970
G — St Louis assembly plant
If you could keep it from caving in on itself before you got it home…
If the owner gives me $500 and pays my expenses to take it to the crusher, we might have a deal.
I think you’re getting screwed on the deal Ike. Make the seller pay for lunch also.
It looks like if you move it it will become a large pile of rust dust… and its bid up to 6k??? Come on man….
This guy has mutable ads posted for the same 1970 Camaro on ebay as well looks like junkyard clean out to me.
That is one sad looking Camaro…
Could be one of his buddies with the 6 grand to beef up interest. Not worth the cost of hauling to the parts yard.
Parts. And few parts at that.
Hate saying it, but this would be a good start for “Graveyard Cars” and few others.
If this sells for more than my low mileage E36 M3 is worth, I’m going to give that latter vehicle to Cars for Kids and be done with this hobby. It is making too little sense for me.
I got lotsa rust in my backyard….I’m gonna post it with some good pics and make a pile of money….but really now lol
Multiply parts cost x labor rate x hours required = redone car.
Then go on ebay or wherever and look at cost of a semi done or complete car.
Looks like $30k will get you a nice driver and double that gets something super-fine.
I bet I could get something in between those two grades doing it myself for about $30k-40k, but it would take two years to get there unless i really wanted to hustle or pay for shortcuts. How much is it to dip a car body, by the way?
How far gone is too far gone?
This is too far gone, and I’m a pretty capable person…..
Ad says it has a “Muncie Rear,”
What a clown, At best a parts car and not many at that..
What’s it worth…how about the $75.00 or so that a local scrap yard hound would pay to haul it off and clean up the yard? That’s about what I think it’s worth..it’s not like you can’t find one anywhere…good grief!
This seller knows how to Not write an add. How about a picture of that “performance rear end ” !! Is it a Dana 60 or low gear 8.75 ?? I’ll pass & know someone else has the money pit!!
brought 6000$. I bet they don’t follow thru. No way a 318 car in that shape is worth more than 1500 tops No title? give me a break
Put a MOPAR emblem on a turd and wait for the big buck$.
What the Hell is wrong with people
May it rest in peace.
Gackmobile.
It’s worth its weight.
Its beautiful!, and should be donated to roadkill to be driven!
