You Have Room For This ’53 Chevy Pickup

'53 Chevy scale left

That’s right this is a 1/24 scale Barn Find Chevy Pickup! This scale model is listed here on eBay with a BIN of $200. This little find will ship from Endicott, New York.

'53 Chevy scale

The artist purchased a die cast model from The Danbury Mint and then customized into a very authentic looking barn find. To complete the look, it even comes loaded with old signs in the bed and a bullet hole in the rear window!

Even the underside is photographed and was given weathered look. The level of detail given to recreate an aged look is impressive, but is it impressive enough to drop $200?

'53 Chevy scale box

This is the box you truck will ship in.  The truck is about 7-3/4″ long, which is the perfect size for a book shelf or desk.

We think that this is a well done model and a great piece to own. Looking at it kind of makes us want to go out and buy a model and give it the proper Barn Finds treatment! What about you? Would you build your own or save some time and just get this one?

Motor-on,
Robert

I think this truck qualifies as a work of art! At $200, its probably a deal considering how long it took him to transform the truck. How many did he practice on in order to achieve this level of perfection? Awesome!

Worth every cent and more. If it was in OZ it would be mine. A bargain.

Well, it’s gone now, so someone thought so. The detail on this is just incredible. Someone really captured in a model what they saw. If Robert didn’t say it was a model, I thought it was a real truck ( except for the headlights. Models never seem to have authentic looking headlights) What a conversation piece, pretty cool.

The owner had tried to sell this last week for $225 and no one waited it. Did a BF reader pick this one up? If so, please let us know.

My vey first thought was, how in the hell did they drive that dirty truck onto that white sheet without leaving tire marks? WOW! What detail!

Yeh… It fooled me too! I thought it was a real full sized barn find truck.

I think the seller is on to something. Won’t be the last one they create! You can bet some less talented “artists” will try to jump on the bandwagon.

I bet the Danbury Mint people are having a fit over the disfiguring of their work!!! But, I too think that the price, for the level of workmanship and detail, is a steal!!! That person is talented!!!!

There was a website – Junkyardjewels that sold models exactly like this. They were priced about $100 if I remember correctly. He would even build custom requests.

Check out this guy. Now his models are not Barn Finds, but his imagery is amazing.
