UPDATE 3/16/22 – It’s been a little while now since we last saw this Cadillac Wagon. Well, it’s hit the market yet again, this time it’s in Warwick, New York, and is listed here on Facebook with an asking price of $30,000. It’s definitely an odd and interesting find, but the question is, is it $30k worth of interesting? Special thanks to BFJunky for the tip!
Update 7/24/19 – This rare Cadillac wagon has resurfaced here on eBay. We aren’t sure if it changed hands, but it’s still in New York. It’ll be interesting to see what it gets bid up to.
From 1/1/19 – Owning a Cadillac Eldorado imparts an air of exclusivity and luxury to those lucky enough to purchase one. It is possible to gain membership into an even more exclusive club by owning a car like this Eldorado Station Wagon. If you want to own a classic that will truly ensure that you stand out from the crowd, then this might be the car for you. Located in Farmingdale, New York, you will find this luxurious station wagon listed for sale here on eBay.
The Eldorado is essentially a hand-made car. A standard Eldorado was plucked from the production line and sent to an approved customizing company for conversion. In this case, the cars went to a company called Wisco, which undertook the conversion. The owner claims that only two cars were converted during the 1975 model year, and after a pretty exhaustive search, I’ve been able to locate one other ’75 Station Wagon that was built by Wisco, and it is finished in metallic green with a white vinyl top. There is also one featured in the Wisco catalog that you will find below, and it appears to be slightly different from our feature car, so there may actually have been three built, not two as the owner claims. This particular car presents really nicely, and the owner says that it has never had a hit. Everything on the outside of the car presents really well, and the vinyl top is also in good condition.
It’s a Cadillac, so naturally, it wants for nothing. Power windows, power seats, an 8-track player that still works, leather upholstery, power locks, and air conditioning that has recently been converted to R134, and works perfectly. Everything is in really good condition, and the wagon even features a rear-facing third row, making this a true seven-seater.
Unfortunately, there are no shots of the engine, but we do know that it is the 500ci V8 that is hooked to an automatic transmission and sends drive via the front wheels. Of course, power steering and power brakes are par for the course, and the tires and brakes have only recently been replaced. The owner says that the car runs and drives really well.
This is another one of those cars that come along now and then and asks the question about what price you are willing to pay for exclusivity. There are certainly not many ’75 Eldorado Station Wagons in existence, so this is a car that is guaranteed to attract attention wherever it goes. It is almost impossible to place a value on this car, simply because it is so different. The owner has placed a value on it. He has set the price at $25,000. It’s not cheap, but I’d be willing to bet that if you parked this in your driveway, your neighbor isn’t going to have an identical one in his driveway.
why ?
Just saw one of these today in Orange County NY. Was the same color as this one. I stopped to take a picture because I never saw one before. Pretty cool to find out it was a 1 of 2 car.
Why? Well, I use mine to haul bags of fertilizer for the roses because I believe in comfort.
Why not?
Weird.
Actually it doesn’t look that bad. Balanced. Better colors would do a world of good. Loose the ‘puffy’ top.
The puffy padded vinyl top is doing a lot of work here. There’s what looks like a complete Colonnade A-body wagon rear section on there that doesn’t line up with the Eldo roof, so there’s gotta be a filler piece there. Plus whatever surrounds that side window piece structurally. It was orders of magnitude cheaper and easier to cover all of that in padded vinyl than to metal finish all those welds.
Compared to this Cadillac conversion, I’ll still take the Ford Fairmont conversion in 1981 to 82 into the Ford Durango. I actually had one once a couple of years ago. I liked the fiberglass bed. Of course, it does not have the suspension like a truck just like the El Camino or Ranchero so it feels like a car; nonetheless, it still has the utility of a bed. I wonder where did that little Durango pickup go after I sold it to a guy who flipped it. Possibly many states away.
From the side it looks like a customized camper shell was installed on a flower car. Different, that’s for sure. GLWTS.
A ghastly hodgepodge of period GM parts. Those look like Coupe deVille mid-side windows and midsize wagon rear side windows. Note that the car pictured in the catalog has a different c-pillar treatment that’s far less awkward than the mashup of angles and curves on this car.
I agree, the rear top looks like it was cut from a Malibu or Buick wagon
Thanks but no.
@CCFisher The one from the catalog is EXACTLY the same. :) ?? Could be the same car even, if the vinyl been changed over the years. I agree this is one awkward wagon, not as nice as some of the full size DeVille’s we’ve seen before on Barn Finds.
Shooting Brake?
Shoot, then break!
Mark is correct..looks like an odd colored funeral flower car.
No thanks.
I like the 4 door conversions better.
Leather?
I can’t help but think that the seat material looks more like vinyl….
As has been discussed here before, rarity does not necessarily equate to a high level of desirability. To me, this is one of those vehicles. I’d so much rather have the Imperial!
The Dad of a friend of mine in high school drove an Eldorado wagon for a period of time and I don’t remember it having the “puffy top” this one has. I told people about it for years and everyone said there was no such thing as a Cadillac SW that was not a Hearse. This one does not look nearly as good as that one.
This has to be one of the ugliest and most ungainly vehicles I have ever seen. And thank God there are only two.
I love it. Why not do doughnuts in the winter with this thing? Imagine the whip from that rear end?
It’s FWD, so you’d have to do them in reverse.
Didn’t John Wayne have one of these? I kind of like it..
No. Wayne’s was a stock Pontiac Safari wagon that had the roof raised by George Barris, so that he would fit inside and still be able to wear his cowboy hat.
Brian K, This is front wheel drive. The best fun is reverse donuts! Crank the steering wheel full lock select reveres and stand on the throttle! Great fun! Also try a little parking brake and see how short the turn around can be. I had a guy block me in and thought he was funny. Not only was I able to “Spin” the car (Series I Honda Civic) out of the spot, but also pelt him very badly with snow! Again, Great fun!
It is different. Almost looks like they were trying to make it like a Vista Cruiser but without the glass. It would be a conversation piece at a minimum.
OMG, 6 tons of ugly on a 3 ton frame……….gack…………..and those colours…..my retinas………..
So Ted… Can we say “you’ll be thinking about a bid here?
I’m going to have to agree with the naysayers on this one. Different for the sake of difference alone, is not enough. It’s an ugly hodge-podge of parts. Bad proportions, very unsightly roofline. Of all the badly-done Cadillac and Corvette wagons we see here on BF, this is not one of the better looking ones.
Way to wreck a Caddy
This is going to be a first for the Cadillac Diva because I never met a Cadillac I didn’t like, but this one is butt ugly. The proportions are all wrong. I’ve seen several Eldorado wagon conversions, and none of them look very good. Leave the Eldorados alone and stick with the Fleetwoods for conversion wagons.
An Eldorado had an affair with one of the house staff, a Malibu Wagon. This was the result 😆
Harry,
Now that was funny! Thanks for making my day.
Well I love it …😁
Looks like a Chevelle wagon humping a Coupe DeVille humping an Eldorado.
i cant stand big boat cadies and lincons, (sorry, not sorry, just not my style) but, but i would drive this
Maybe I’m wrong…but isn’t the side glass behind the doors a Coupe de Ville glass? Two thoughts… 1) The tragedy of this car is that this conversion is like telling your grandmother that the dress she’s trying on is 3 sizes too big! Somebody tried this on, they think it looks good and nobody’s going to convince them any other way….so…no good is going to come from any trying to make it better… just walk away! 2) Somebody paid a lot of money for this!
So polarizing! I admire the workmanship and craftsmanship that went into this, but this car is not for me. Yet, I would still like to use it for a weekend. I hope this ends up in the hands of someone who really loves it.
This is so weird. I don’t know who would want this. Maybe a funeral home could use it as a hearse.
There’s an old saying we all know but should remember, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”.
A Cadillac is a Cadillac, and a station wagon is a station wagon, no need to mix them up!!
Lol
like the 500ci, up-frnt, frnt wheel drive.
Like that itsa wagon.
(Gotta really reach for more) ummm –
Well equiped.
I agree with all the naysayers
This is ugly, uglier, ugliest , fokin ugly, fugly
I don’t think it is all that bad. However, it is different as Elvis was to Led Zeppelin when all of a sudden a band decided to form called Dread Zeppelin, and tour North America 1990. Here is what they had to print on the inside of their album cover: “Greetings from DREAD-land where every day is in the year 1973 and the King is alive and well, dropping weight preparing for his next “Aloha From Hawaii” satellite concert.
Dread Zeppelin is a reggae band that plays Zeppelin music. Add to this heady mixture, vocalist extraordinaire and self-proclaimed “legitimate” son of Elivis (he has yet to explain who his mother is), TORTELIVIS. An imposing Presence both on and off the stage, TORTELVIS has been described as a cross between Elivis, Dracula, and Liberace (!)”
TORTELVIS. lol

What a zero.
…this thing went from Farmingdale, NY to Warwick, NY and increased 10,000…guess somebody’s trying to make a killing on a “flip”….
