This 1968 Buick GS400 Convertible is in rough shape and the drivetrain has gone missing, but I think it’s worth a look because it’s claimed to be an original 4-speed car. That may not be a big deal when we are discussing most muscle cars, but according to the seller only 351 of these were built in convertible form with the 4-speed transmission. That alone makes this project interesting. Of course you will have to source a 400 and a tranny, but the end result would be lots of fun. The seller has started the auction here on eBay at $2,000 with no reserve, so it might even go for a realistic amount of money. Take a look and let us know what you think. Thanks goes to Steve Y. for the tip!
What a shame. I would have ditched the Skylark first. Looks like a lot more than the engine and trans “went missing”. Good luck to the buyer! Price should not go much higher I suspect, it’s not a Mustang or a Camaro.
It is a shame that a simple plan wasn’t made before this car was raped. When I showed my son how to save money by doing his own repairs we had an agreement. He would research how to do repair and to remember he is not a mechanic.
