How about a traveling, show-going and towing 1959 Mack B-61? Listed here on craigslist in St. Louis, Missouri, but garaged in Oak Grove, Missouri is this Mack for $12.5K. The owner, Robert (another one), says this restored B-61T has a 6 cylinder diesel engine and runs perfectly. It is ready to roll and show! You can even tow your classic cars or tractors with it!

There is a twin stick duplex transmission in the truck. This Mack is said to run with excellent oil pressure while towing. There is a 12V starter with newer batteries already installed.

All the tubeless radial tires are near 90% or better. The brakes have been upgraded to spring brakes. It appears most of, if not all, of the consumables have been replaced to insure it’s a nice rig to drive.

The interior is nicely done in black and white.  There are more images with the ad for your review.

The truck was rewired and upgraded, everything works even the factory interior lights. It really is a great looking rig, inside and out!

The owner says he has manuals, build sheet documents and history from the Mack Museum. We think these maybe included with the purchase, the buyer may want to ask though. Robert says his truck will cruise easily around 55-60 MPH. There is a goose-neck ball hitch installed to pull a trailer. The truck is wired with a 7 way RV plug and there is an electric brake controller to help slow things down. Wouldn’t it be nice to tow your RV with this Mack to some races and shows? Robert has several other trucks and is looking to make some room. So do you have room for this Mack?

Motor-on,

Robert

Easily worth the asking price, but it is a niche market. Great truck!

Nice price. Always wanted one of these however the HOA may frown upon that sitting in the driveway, lol.

GREAT looking truck. In 1959 truck drivers often had big arms and shoulders for a reason. I worked for Fleetwood in the Travel Trailer Division for many years and have seen RVs towed by heavy trucks. Shakes them apart because of the stiff ride that really requires a heavier load to make the suspension work as designed. It would sure be fun to drive this Mack however. :-) TLouisJ

Wow, someone knew what they were doing (and had deep pockets) The interior colors reminded me of Green Bay Packers (not sure why they did that, you’d think the dash would be black) Welcome change in the braking dept. This is a perfect job for this, although, you aren’t looking at too good a mileage here, if that’s a concern( maybe 10mpg?) Truth be known, these were ,,,shall we say, demanding to drive back in the day. They were hot/cold, cramped, noisy, all over the road( bias-ply tires) underpowered, under braked, hard to steer ( no power steering back then) ROUGH RIDING rattletraps. Still, for short fun trips, it’s a blast. All the hard work is done, just enjoy. (don’t forget your kidney belt and crash helmet)
BTW, has anybody else noticed how slow the website is lately?

Nice Mack, sent this to my son as he is a diesel fanatic and he named his daughter Mackenzie and calls her MACK for short. Her full initials are MPH.

I believe all Macks of that era had green interior. Just not that shade of green.

That would be great to haul a 40 foot enclosed race car trailer with a couple of show cars!
