Rover P4s are adorable British cars. They’re very uncommon in the States (the example at hand was imported). They are often referred to as the “poor man’s Rolls-Royce”. This 1964 Rover P4 110 is barn-find quality. It is listed on Facebook in Niles, Michigan for $19,500. Thanks to Sam61 for the tip.
The exterior is clearly dusty and has been sitting for a good while. The seller notes that the car is equipped with suicide doors and is free of rust. The underbody was reportedly recoated before it was parked. It appears to be finished in a two-tone white and grey. The doors are said to open and close with ease and under the dirt the car is supposed to be in good condition.
The interior is finished in blue leather with real wood trim. The steering wheel is located on the right side of the vehicle. With a deep clean this cabin would be in excellent shape. This is an excellent choice for the right enthusiast and seems to need little to no cosmetic help.
A 2.7 straight-6 engine sent power to the wheels via a 4-speed manual transmission. The car is said to have run before the car was parked though it needed some brake work. This cute little semi-luxury vehicle seems to need some mechanical attention but it’s unlikely that it would be too extensive of a job. The exterior and interior clearly need to be cleaned but are in good shape and won’t need too much work. This is an excellent opportunity to own a very unique British vehicle. The suicide doors are one of my favorite features because it’s rare to see them, especially on a small car. The next owner will be able to enjoy this car fully once the issues get sorted. If you are interested in owning this car contact the seller on Facebook before it’s gone.
Listed for 28 weeks. Price insanity. The best one in the world wouldn’t sell for this amount. Where DO people get their prices.
Admittedly overpriced. A P5B it ain’t…
Michelle, today, everyone thinks they have gold just because it sits in a barn. Rare does not mean valuable! At least it could have been washed or at least dusted. Even the picture-taking leaves something to be desired!!
It’s expensive. They’re nice cars; not fast fast, but they make good progress.
Also not that small for a car from here…
Nice Rover, but unrealistic pricing as others have said. Just because it’s old and different doesn’t make it anything special. The seller has a limited base of buyers for it. My advise is to clean it up and present it in its best condition, I would then think it would be a 10,000 car.
Price is . . . nutz. That’s the problem with Facebook – free ads so nobody cares if they really get a sale or not. If they actually had to pay, they wouldn’t waste their money hoping some idiot comes along. Problem with idiots and money – they lose it so fast, they don’t have it to spend after looking on line.
They state they are open to trades . . . would they be interested in a Lotus 7 with real wood trim?
Now that’s funny. What, everybody else with real lives off with family or something and not just with their cosmic Barnfind “friends “?
Wonderful cars. Have the whitworth spanners on hand.
Of course people are free to set any price on things that they don’t want to sell, but this is cringeworthy. I’d think $5k in the current non-running state would seem about right. $10k cleaned, issues fixed and fully drivable and ready to go? These are pretty nice cars, but the buyer pool is very limited and the ones who know enough to be interested also know enough not to wildly overpay… But I have been wrong before.
