1969 Pontiac GTO Judge: Cow Tipping

1969 Pontiac GTO Judge

This 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge was supposedly found in a barn only 60 miles from the dealership that sold it new. It has some rust, but appears to be relativity original and complete. The seller purchased the car from the second owner who claimed that it was parked back in 1987 after a small accident. Apparently a cow leaned on the car… A replacement fender went on and the engine came out for a rebuild. That never happened, but the original block is included in the sale. The car is located in Springtown, Texas and you can find it here on eBay where bidding starts at $1,000 with no reserve! It’s going to need a full restoration, but considering what Judges go for these days, it just might be worth it.

GTO interior

This GTO is going to need some rust repair, but honestly it doesn’t look too bad. We have seen far worse brought back to life here. The floors do have some small holes and the trunk looks crispy. It might be sacrilege, but if the body isn’t too bad, I would tempted to fix the floors and leave the outside alone.

GTO rear

The orange paint and Judge stripes are most likely original so it would be fun to try and preserve what’s still there. Something will have to be done with the front fender which was involved in the “incident”. The Judge was basically a stripped out GTO with some nice visual cues. Notice the rear spoiler and racing stripes in this shot.

GTO engine

The Judge also came standard with Ram Air III engine. That means it had 400 cubic inches under the hood and could put out 366 horsepower and 445 foot pounds of torque! That was some serious muscle and it made the Judge a formidable competitor on the street and the track.

GTO grill

The original engine is not currently fitted in this car because, as I mentioned above, the seller pulled it out for a rebuild. The block and heads are included and there are photos of them in the listing. The high power and unique look of the Judge makes these cars highly desirable today. This car represents what was best about American Muscle cars, but would you want it in your garage? You be the Judge!

It will find a new home. I am sure it will bring at least 10K.

Looks like an honest representation. Not a shine and sell project by any stretch. I picture it on a rotisserie.

Did the Judge come w/ a vinyl top? I don’t recall that being an option, but then, I’m going on the “golden glow of memory” which has somewhat dimmed!! :-)
