Reawakened After 13 Years: 1972 Ford Bronco

This 1972 Ford Bronco checks a lot of boxes for buyers who want something honest, usable, and still open to improvement. According to the seller, this Bronco, listed here on eBay, was purchased by their brother roughly 20 years ago and spent about 13 of those years parked before being acquired in 2025. Since then, it has received a round of reconditioning aimed at getting it back on the road rather than fully restoring it, making this very much a running project with momentum already on its side.

Power comes from a 302 cubic-inch V8 paired with a three-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. The drivetrain is rounded out by a Dana 44 front axle and a 9-inch rear axle equipped with a limited-slip differential. In 2025, the engine received attention that included the installation of an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, along with replacement of fuel hoses, fuel filter, spark plug wires, starter, alternator belt, and a passenger-side engine mount. The cooling system was also serviced with a new thermostat, hoses, temperature sender, and a relay for the electric cooling fan.

Braking was addressed as well, with the drum brakes overhauled using new shoes, drums, wheel cylinders, hoses, and hardware. The rear pinion seal was replaced, and the truck now runs on 32×11.5-inch Yokohama Geolandar M/T tires mounted on 15-inch slotted alloy wheels, all installed in 2025. A suspension lift is present, along with a Skyjacker steering stabilizer, and the seller notes that a replacement steering gearbox will be included with the truck.

From the factory, this Bronco was finished in Sequoia Brown Metallic, and it still wears faded brown paint today. The removable white hardtop remains in place, along with a swing-away spare tire carrier, receiver hitch, and dual side mirrors. The rear fenders have been cut and fitted with white wheel-arch flares, reflecting a functional, trail-oriented approach rather than a stock restoration. The windshield and seal were replaced in 2025.

Inside, the Bronco features gray front bucket seats, a parchment-trimmed rear bench, and a four-point roll bar. A plastic storage box sits between the front seats, while the carpeting has been removed. The seller notes corrosion in the passenger-side floor pan that has been covered with an aluminum plate, along with cracks in the dash pad and other age-related wear.

The odometer shows just under 79,000 miles, with only about 20 miles added under current ownership. A Deluxe Marti Report is included and confirms factory equipment, colors, and delivery to Canyon Ford in Phoenix, Arizona. Described as a running project, this Bronco offers a solid foundation for someone who wants to drive it now while deciding how far to take it next.
