With a pretty unusual bed and color scheme, as well as a relatively low 98,000 miles, I’m pretty sure someone will be interested in making this truck their own. It’s listed for sale here on eBay with a buy it now of $4,900 and bidding starting at $999 with a reserve. Thanks to reader Corey O. for this unusual find! The truck is Stanwood, Washington in case you want to factor in pickup or shipping costs.
I’ll have to state that the construction of this bed is a little unusual — the metal part looks like it’s constructed like a roll back car transporter, and the wooden stake bed is more densely constructed than I would typically see. The seller tells us that they are the second owner and that the truck has always been garaged. There are plenty of details in the well-written eBay ad (why can’t all sellers be like this one?) including that you’ll need a little carburetor work done. The seller is including a new aftermarket carburetor, though, which I’d install the first afternoon I had the truck at home.
The seller states that they drove this truck daily for about five years while they were in the landscaping business. The bed holds an astonishing 150+ cubic feet and the suspension has been upgraded to match.
That’s an adjustable hitch on the rear and the seller is even including “a full tank of Shell 92 octane with NOS octane booster.” That could make filling up pretty expensive and the 360 cubic inch V8 isn’t going to be a fuel sipper. However, if you are using this as an enthusiast vehicle with minimal use, i.e. just for fun, perhaps the fuel usage won’t be that bad. I wish we had pictures of the inside and underside of this truck; that’s the only fault I can find with the ad — but based on the way the ad is written, I’m pretty sure pictures would be forthcoming if you asked for them. The problem is, I can’t figure out exactly where this truck fits in my life. Does it fit into yours?
It’s a landscaper’s truck. Enough said.
Looks similar to the one old Clarence the cross – eyed Lion used to ride in. If it was painted with zebra stripes.
