Often times, the arrival of a TVR on eBay means an eclectic British sports car with finicky mechanics and a lofty auction price. Fortunately, some of the company’s later offerings are still accessible for those on a budget. This 1985 TVR 280i Tasmin here on eBay is available for $3,000, thanks to a cheap Buy-It-Now price. The catch? Well, it’s a TVR and bears all of the quirks that go along with it, but it’s also the victim of a stalled clutch replacement job so it’s not exactly turnkey. Don’t worry; a new clutch comes with the car and the title is clean despite the car needing some bodywork done to be perfect. The interior looks like it will clean up OK, and then, God willing, it’s only a short time later you’ll be able to fire up that sweet 2.8 litre Cologne V6. It won’t be an easy relationship, but it could be quite fun. Do these British wedges turn you on?

Can anyone Id the little coupe sitting next to the tvr? Looks a little mid 60’s British but doesn’t ring a bell with me. A db6 slept with a p1800 and that’s the offspring?
It’s a coach-built Fiat. 750 or 850. Allemano or Vignale
The grey coupé is a NSU Prinz Sport Coupé. They were manufactured between 1958 and 1968 – 2 cyl, 583 cc, 30-34 hp.

Note the Bertone badge past the word Prinz….
There is another rather big catch – nasty damage to the front ! Shame – I love the sound of the engine these cars have.
The little coupe next to it looks to be the same as the white one in the background by the fence – very cute!
Addicted to Alfa Romeo for over 30 year, things could get really frustrating. Alfisti will recpgnize this. However, every cloud immediately cleared after speaking to my neighbour who bought a TVR 280i Tasman new around 1985. Wow, the problems that guy had. But after 3 marriages he still loves his TVR and it’s shining in his garage, as he told me about 2 years ago after I met him for the first time since 1994.
“Olaf, this car is cheaper than each of my three ex-wives.”
I was thinking one of the stablemates to the TVR might be an NSU Prinz? He says he will have another 4 or 5 cars to auction off. At $1200 (so far) this TVR could be a bargain.
So, the grey car is a NSU, but what is the orange pointy nose one?
I think it could be a Glas.
We have been had! This TVR as well as the NSU next to it were sold at the recent Lemay spring auction. Same guy had the Shalavette recently featured. It too was part of the Lemay sale. As his story goes. He bought five cars to get that one he wanted…..so he decided to sell the others. The cars are still posted at Lucky Collector Auctions website. The guy is a flipper in fact used the same pics as posted on the Lucky website.
