1988 Toyota Supra With 23k Miles!

In recent years, I’ve observed that Toyota’s third-generation Supra is finally earning praise among enthusiasts. I’ve always thought the MA70 chassis was an attractive and often overlooked sports car, and this 1988 Toyota Supra that’s available here on eBay is a low-mileage survivor.

This Supra is available in McDonald, Tennessee with a clean title. The seller mentions that the vehicle previously belonged to his 67-year-old mother, who purchased it new. The sports car supposedly still smells like it’s new, and it only has 23,360 miles on it.

As you can expect from a one-owner, garage kept vehicle, both the exterior and interior are meticulous. The seller claims that neither received a detail before photographing it, which is a testament to its cleanliness.

Under the hood, there’s a 3.0-liter “7M-GE” engine, which pairs to a 5-speed manual transmission. From the factory, this naturally aspirated engine made around 200 horsepower.

At the time of publication, bidding for this sports car is at $10,000 with the reserve not met. Though the ad lacks detailed information, the seller invites serious buyers to phone in for more specifics. What do you think of this survivor MKIII Supra?

Never drove an 87 and up Supra. My brother had an 84 Supra and that was a blast to drive. I do like the color though.

Had an ’87 5-speed with turbo. Great car – one of the best interiors going. Just take care of the head bolt torque issue and these will last forever. A car to buy while still undervalued.

I remember this generation Toyota Supra. I found it way more attractive at the time than the previous generation (Celica Supra). Today, I find it just as attractive as the previous generation, and way more attractive than later gen Supras.

That’s a good looking car! Hope the next owner keeps it on the road where it belongs rather than squander it away.

I drove one of these with a five speed and discovered that it is smoother, quieter, and more refined than a Camaro or a Corvette. Someone told me that Toyota was aiming for a Corvette competitor and hit the Camaro instead, but really the Supra landed in between those two. If this car was closer, I would bid.

I think we should pay attention to the car’s odometer, registered on eBay by the AutoChek report.

Hope the seller can prove that it was his Mom’s and this is not just a flipper with a “story”. I don’t usually even read the posts for foreign cars, but this one is interesting. Nice find! rather the story is true or not.

I have driven a few of these. One of which around the Lowe’s Motor Speedway in NC. A very nice and well built car. Be a wise investment.

Bidding now at $15k with the reserve met, which I would judge as about the ceiling. Other than an apparent problem with the nose in front of the driver’s headlight, it appears perfect. I would hope that the original floor mats are under that rubber thing. Leather interior was an option for the NA models, so that is a plus
