Only 657 25th anniversary Countaches are said to have been released making this example extremely desirable. Lamborghini introduced consumer-available supercars to a world that really only understood sports cars as the most opulent and performance-oriented vehicles. The Countach did a great deal for the automotive world and this 25th anniversary was made to celebrate the brand’s success. This example is available for sale in Italy on Girard and Co for £495,000.00 and is said to have just over 26k kilometers. Thanks to Araknid for the tip!
The exterior is finished in Rosso Siviglia. The red is perfectly Italian and presents with fierce elegance. The factory wheels are very retro-futuristic and present very well. This car was clearly meticulously kept. This is to be 1 or 600 left-hand-drive examples. I love how low and boxy the car’s profile is and of course, the scissor doors are way too cool.
The interior is finished in Nero and presents extremely well. The cabin is roomier than you might expect and appears to be luxurious, comfortable, and highly function-focused. Horacio Pagani and Sandro Munari are said to have revised the 25th-anniversary and added climate control, power windows and seats, better bolstering, and a new steering column.
A 5.2-liter V12 engine sends 449 horsepower to the wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission. Nothing looks or sounds quite like a v12 under the hood. 449 horsepower in a consumer vehicle is an insane feat in the ’80s. These cars are masterfully designed and essentially driveable art pieces. This car will no doubt find its way into an enthusiasts collection or even on display somewhere. It is, of course, price prohibited at nearly half a million dollars but a car of this caliper is rare and special. If you are interested in owning this masterpiece contact Girard and Co before the car inevitably sells.
What teenager of the ‘90’s didn’t have this on the wall-or ceiling!-of their bedroom? More than a few dreams began with a Countach at the forefront. Some older guys also had a huge poster of this and later the Testarossa somewhere in the garage in addition to the usual garage art..
A marker in automotive time without a doubt.
A Countach roared by me on the highway late 80s… Just after we passed thru a small town in Virginia.
Once back onto the hwy… it pulled out, and it blew past.. i remember thinking what a sound. Very wide cars, it was spectacular.
It’s £495,000, which, at current exchange rates, is ~622,000 US$.
Nice to look at but when you’ve been in one like I have they’re very claustrophobic. The window only goes down half way.
Cool beyond comprehension, but about $550,000 above my budget. (I would love to see the “barn” that this was found in!)
I think you mean a car of this “caliber”….
Crucial to the value here are: matching numbers, at least some provenance, manuals with the car, and extensive service records. This car also has the optional sport seat in the driver’s position.
The car is located in Italy.
