1997 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 30th Anniversary Edition

Three decades of consistent production for any model is a cause worth celebrating in the auto community, and Chevrolet did not disappoint when the Camaro had its 30th birthday.  A special package, corporately known as RPO code Z4C, was offered on a limited number of examples, which is better known as the 30th Anniversary Edition.  This 1997 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 is one such equipped car, with the fun not stopping there, as it also features some other desirable options.  If you’ve been looking for a well-preserved fourth-generation F-Body, this one seems deserving of a close look.  This Z is located in Slatington, Pennsylvania, and can be spotted here on Craigslist, with the asking price set at $23,700.  Our thanks go out to reader Mitchell G. for the great tip here!

The 30th Anniversary Edition cars were painted white with additional Hugger Orange stripes, and the outside preservation here appears no less than exceptional.  The current owner states that he purchased the Camaro from a private thirty-vehicle collection, which consisted of both antique and collectible autos.  This one’s said to have been garage-kept, and judging from its condition, it looks like this sporty Chevy has spent most of its downtime in a safe environment.  The white wheels also appear to be well-preserved, with the tires shining just as brightly as the rest of the exterior.

No photo of the dash area is provided, but the seats appear to remain in fine condition, with the red, white, and blue Chevy 30 stitching on the back certainly deserving of some bragging rights.  The mileage listed is 53,000, which is said to be original, with the interior’s stunning appearance seeming to be good evidence that this is actual.  Another great feature for the occupants is the T-Tops, with the weather stripping on top still nicely intact, and no obvious evidence inside that they’ve had any leaks.

The Z28 came with a 350 engine in ’97, and with the V8 pushing close to 300 HP, this was sounding pretty good for the time.  Everything in the bay seems to be in good order, with another positive being that this one’s also got a 6-speed manual transmission.  I’m guessing this cool Chevy will find a new home quickly, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it fetches near the asking price.  Any thoughts to share on this 1997 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 30th Anniversary Edition?

I was looking for a new car back in 1998 and was interested in these. My local Chevy dealer said they were out there with a few thousand miles on them but, even though they were a year old, they were several thousand over sticker and I would have to pay to have it shipped here. I said thanks but no thanks. I bought a 1998 Firebird convertible instead which I still have.

The longer the description goes without mentioning the tranny the more certain I am that it’s going to have the 4L60E. If I was the seller I’d mention that T-56 in the heading.
