23k Original Miles: 1993 Buick Roadmaster

One thing that seems to happen as we get older is that time appears to pass more quickly. For me, the 1990s feel like yesterday, but the reality is that thirty-two years have elapsed since this 1993 Buick Roadmaster rolled off the showroom floor. It has accumulated a mere 23,000 miles in that time, equating to around 720 miles per year. Its presentation is all that you might expect, and I must say a big thank you to Barn Finder Dennis H for spotting the Roadmaster listed here on Facebook Marketplace in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. It could be yours for $13,800, which is a significant reduction from the $15,750 the seller was asking when they first listed this classic.

Buick reintroduced the Roadmaster badge in 1991 after it had been absent from its lineup since 1958. Initially offered as a Station Wagon, the Sedan version hit showroom floors for the 1992 model year. The first owner ordered our feature car in 1993, choosing to cloak its panels in dazzling Torch Red. Thirty-two years may have passed since that day, but this gem has aged extremely well. The paint shines beautifully, and if there are any defects, they are too minor to reveal themselves in the supplied photos. The panels are laser-straight, and there is no evidence of rust on this garage-kept survivor. The glass is crystal clear, and the bright trim, including the wire wheel covers, looks excellent. Overall, this classic’s presentation should turn heads and attract admiring comments.

Powering this Buick is the L05 version of the General Motors 5.7-liter V8. The rest of the major components include a four-speed 4L60 automatic transmission, and power-assisted steering and brakes. The engine’s power and torque figures of 180hp and 300 ft/lbs don’t look startling by modern standards, and it is fair to say that with a ¼-mile ET of 17.4 seconds, those looks aren’t deceptive. However, these cars are eerily quiet inside and seem to consume the miles effortlessly. The seller indicates that this Buick has been meticulously maintained, meaning that the claimed odometer reading of 23,000 genuine miles might be supported by Service Records. It runs and drives perfectly, providing its new owner with immediate motoring pleasure.

There are few things more plush and luxurious than a classic car with an interior trimmed in rich Burgundy. The first owner selected that shade in cloth that shows no evidence of wear or abuse. This is a significant achievement and seems to further support the seller’s mileage claim. The plastic hasn’t deteriorated due to the car’s overall lack of exposure to UV rays, and the faux woodgrain is excellent. This Buick’s looks aren’t deceptive, because the interior is well-appointed by the standards of the time. It includes air conditioning, power windows, power locks, power seats, remote mirrors, cruise control, a tilt wheel, and an AM/FM radio/cassette player.

The seller may have significantly reduced their price on this 1993 Buick Roadmaster, but the current figure remains above the market average. Then again, why not? Its odometer reading is extremely low, and its presentation suggests it needs nothing beyond a new home. If you longed to own one of these classics when they were new but found them beyond your financial means, now could be the ideal opportunity to right that wrong. What do you say?

These cars are really good and remarkably reliable! The price is high. But a reason people have a hard time paying the price is because after all those decades, you want to make it a daily driver.well after a little while you find out you may need to reseal the engine, add all new hoses, belts because rubber wears out fast.Things that are normal wear and tear can turn into a few thousand to get right again.People don’t think on this but it’s just the reality.$7000 might be a more reasonable price!

Always a good idea to replace all belts and hoses on an older vehicle.
I may be living in the past but I don’t think it would cost too much.

things depend on if you can do it yourself or need to pay someone! I have seen this a few times where pulleys, water pumps and radiators, power steering pumps, rear main seals, head gaskets. if it goes within a couple thousand miles which it does most times then yes your talking thousands. i’m not talking of 5-8 yr old vehicles. These over 30 ones. They run like new once those things are replaced and no problem. But it’s still a fact and people in the know won’t pay top dollar because they know.

I believe the 4L60 didn’t arrive on the scene until ’94. My ’92 Roadmaster still retains its original 700-R4.

I am a sucker for big GM cars of this era, even though I now own an 03 Grand Marquis with 150,000 miles and 09 Town Car with 37,000 miles. The reason this stunning Buick isn’t sold and price reduced is that stupid Americans want SUVs, that all look the same. They wouldn’t be caught dead having this in their driveway. If my garage wasn’t full, I’d be leaving for Uniontown today to get this, it’s about a 4 hour drive from me. I hope the new owner takes care of it. I guarantee it will last longer than any junk being built today.
