This is one way to sell a special edition ’80s exotic. For sale is a 1989 Lamborghini Countach 25 Anniversary Edition has a starting bid price of $310,000 with no reserve. There are 4,178 miles on the odometer and the car is located in Buffalo, New York. You can view more here on eBay.
Having a V12 engine resting behind you as you drive should provide plenty of audio thrills. Interaction with the car is provided in many ways, especially the manual transmission. The title is clear and the VIN is listed if you want to look it up.
Listed interior features include power locks, windows, and seats. That is interesting and quite luxurious for a brutally raw sports car. The badges are all present, indicating the pedigree and stature of this being a 25th anniversary Lamborghini. It is a lovely shade of Rosso Siviglia red, according to the listing.
The listing should be taken cautiously, as they have listed the car as a right-hand drive vehicle. It could be a simple mistake. Inquiries for information and more pictures are welcomed by the seller. It is strange to see a poster car of the ’80s for sale with such vagueness on an auction website. No one would have expected that when the car was new.
oh my………!
Picture says 6268 on the odometer…
Kilometres, looks like. MSRP was 169K on that car new. Had no idea they were worth this kind of money.
Rodney, that is the question.
Is it really worth 300K?
Nope!
These were icon when new, but their design hasn’t aged well.
Steve R
Actually the car is still as sexy and iconic as it was 30 years ago, it’s the Picture viewers that haven’t aged well. Lol
Yeah 30 year ago me could get in and out of this car. Now would be an issue
One coming up for auction with 920 miles
Stalla trovare?
Italian for barna finda, si !
The 25th Anniversary was the best Countach you could buy. It had many refinements and styling touches. Pagani (yes the same Pagani that builds supercars today) did the refresh. Some think all the scallops made it look too Testarossa, but I think it just looks eighties awesome!
Jesse, with only 6000 KM on it, how much do you think it would cost to replace all the parts that have deteriorated over the years?
That can’t be cheap.
If you can afford the car, the minor repair/replace probably isn’t going to be a concern.
Too bad there is no Lira any more. Trecento milioni in LIRA.
Troppi soldi in US$.
Eighties and awesome in one sentence?
I think you mean to say …Ottanta e fantastico in una frase?
Why would you try to sell a car like this on Ebay? Not to disparage Ebay, mind you, but, even if it’s misrepresented as right hand drive, wouldn’t the seller have better luck, say, trying BaTrailer,or even Mecum auctions?
I don’t know if ebay is the absolute best venue for this particular car, but it is the most viewed “used car classified” advertising venue in the world. I suspect something like this could move in an off ebay transaction, but the initial contact between the parties may well have been via ebay.
Remember the Porsche 959 on Craigslist?
The lack of effort in the ad, and the “as-is” description of the car doesn’t give off a warm and fuzzy vibe.
I thought this was BARN FINDS
It is …Stalla trovare !
I could care less if this is a “barn find” or not…like why does that even matter anyway.
This Countach is sexy af. They were in the 80’s and they still are now.
Not my cup of tea. Take a Alpha or a Ferrari any day over the countach.
On the data plate it says “vehicle capacity weight 455 1bs. (should be lbs.). Could Lambo seriously have made such a bush-league mistake on a car like this? That looks really suspect to me.
$310,000 car……..I want to see the barn this came out of.
Don’t get me wrong but…
I love Italian exotics but after a “bargain” Dino I’ll never buy anything with wheels that requires an engine to be pulled for regular “routine maintenance”. And then there’s the cost of parts..
These days if I had $300,000 + to burn through I’d probably find a clean Ford GT. I’d probably even be able to buy spark plugs and gaskets at Advance Auto. Like if it’d ever even need anything.
Perhaps of no relevance, but the seller has made a big step up from previously selling golfing items to a $310K automobile……just saying.
Does every car here have to come out of a frickin barn? So tiring to read that ridiculous comment over and over again.
Nah… these never really appealed to me even back then… turned 18 at boot camp, July ’81, so I was well past the bedroom wall poster stage by the time this car rolled anyway. If someone dropped that 300 grand on me, after the good Lord got his portion then I’d set aside maybe 15, 20 for a nice ’72 Cutlass plus whatever assorted tweaks & upgrades stuck my fancy…
Like buying a ‘cheap’ Rolls Royce: The money you ‘save’ now will be spent later. And later. And later, And later……
Power windows? Isn’t like four inch coin slot?
I keep thinking is this a joke! What am I missing, I don’t get it. I feel like I am the only guy in the room that doesn’t know what’s going on. 300 K ,for a car that looks like a cheap kit car, on a junk yard chassis with a 4 cylinder motor.
I wasn’t so old in the 80’s, that I don’t I remember the poster, but 300 thousand dollars!
You may wonder how someone could come up with a price of $310,000 for this Lambo. Although it may seem like a random number, it is actually the exact number for a #1 condition model according to Hagerty’s valuation tool.
Might as well try for it.
I still have the Alpine poster of this car on my wall.
