Even though the Chevrolet Corvette had lost a bit of its spunk in performance capabilities by 1977, the C3 still looked great outside, especially when dressed in black. Barn Finds reader Curvette spotted this one here on eBay, sitting in a garage in Cambridge, Pennsylvania, and we’d like to thank him for making us aware of it! A couple of positives right off the bat are that this third-generation car is a one-owner example, and it’s only been driven a total of 31,000 miles. Some tasks will need to be performed before this one’s ready to be a daily commuter, so if you’ve been in the market for a reasonably-priced ‘Vette to tinker with, this might be a good choice. A buy-it-now price of $8,999 has been posted, but the seller is also willing to listen to offers.

We only get six photos to check out, and not a whole lot of specifics about the Corvette from the seller. However, some very helpful and informative information has been provided by a mechanic, who has gone through this entire car and created a list of repairs that will be required to return this one to a top-notch ride. Fortunately, this handwritten document doesn’t mention anything about the body, so hopefully, the panels are still all structurally sound. With the limited number of pictures, we don’t get to view every outside angle, but the areas we can see appear OK. An immediate buffing would probably be beneficial in the short term, followed by a fresh coat of black paint once the non-cosmetic issues are dealt with.

The Corvette is said to be running and driving, but I’m guessing its operation is either infrequent or that most of the miles were put on earlier in the car’s life. Some of the mechanic’s recommendations for the engine include a tune-up, replacement belts, an oil change, and new radiator hoses. It’s a plus that this one’s got a 4-speed manual, with a shifter stick adjustment also on the to-do list, but with a question mark beside it.

Only one photo from inside is provided, but the condition appears decent, and in line with what such a low-mileage interior would hopefully look like. Probably the biggest concern in here is another observation from the mechanic, who states that there’s a bad mouse odor in here, with a thorough cleaning recommended. This one has both positives and negatives, with the miles and one-owner status being a couple of the stronger points. Is this 1977 Chevrolet Corvette one you’d consider buying?

Could be a good one. Would go in with a lower offer to cover the mouse smell. I actually rebodied a car once because of a combination of chicken and mouse odor.
Just how I would have ordered it only with an L-82. Decent price if it checks out, not too many black ones.
Gone already
Like I mentioned in the comments section of the last Vette posted here, the prices for C3s are all over the place. Hopefully, this post doesn’t get deleted…
We aren’t deleting your posts. They are just delayed because they are going to moderation.
I had a rare Navy blue on dark blue leather with a 4 speed. They may have lost some of the power from previous models but their build quality was superior.
Comment deleted… Did I piss someone off?
Again, your comments are not being deleted.
