The second-generation Chevrolet Corvette began with the 1963 model year, and Chevy was so spot-on with the outcome that few changes were made for the 1964 model. A few improvements for ’64 included a handful of suspension tweaks and a simulated walnut steering wheel rim was added, which can be seen on the car being offered here. The current owner had had this Corvette for 34 years and claims to have complete repair records. The car has Riverside Red paint, and the body and finish look to be in very nice shape from every angle we can see. There’s no word on whether or not the paint is original or if the car has had a respray at some point. The car has a matching red interior which also appears to be in fine condition. This Vette also has air conditioning, power steering, knock-off wheels, and new whitewall tires. The car has been garage kept and has not been smoked in. I always liked how the radio was mounted vertically in these cars, which reminds me of how it was on my friend’s 1980 Chevy Citation in high school, except the cool factor just wasn’t there in that car.
Under the hood is a 327 cubic inch V-8 engine paired with a 4-Speed manual transmission. The car is said to only have a little over 48,000 miles and the engine was rebuilt in 2020, but there is no mention of whether or not this is the original numbers-matching motor. Everything that can be seen under the hood looks to be clean and in good working order, and you’ve got to love those Corvette valve covers which sure look original to me. The car also has a new aluminum radiator, and the seller says that this Corvette runs and drives excellent.
It’s nice to see a car come up for sale that has been owned and loved by the same person for so many years. The car presents really well and with that 4-Speed I’m sure it’s a real blast to drive. Very nice. Great engine without the headaches of fuel injection. Great colors. Not many red on red cars. At $50,000, this is a bargain if no rust in bird cage and frame.
Beautiful car, sure it will sell for a good price. If it matches the photos then someone will get a great car. Had a co-worker back in the 60’s that had a 63 SWC with a 65 Fuelie engine including the Rochester Fuelie unit. Big thing was he had someone that knew how to work on that Rochester unit. That sucker would sing when you got on it. Ran like a scalded dog when Tom got into it, big thing was it stopped like a Mac truck due to the drum brakes.
Long as you planned to stop as needed, it was a fun car to be in.

This looks like sorta a resto mod to me. I doubt it is a real 365hp car. Tach looks to have a 5500 redline. Aftermarket air conditioning might make it a great driver, but lack of any documentation screams fake to me.
Yep I noticed that tach red line too and wondered if it was a 365 HP 327 CI originally. The motor, from what we can see of it appears to be a 365. A very nice Corvette none the less in good colors, equipped just right.
Correct, tach is wrong for a 365 hp motor so either the tach has been replaced or the engine has. Which do you think? Also I believe the valve covers on a 365 hp engine had labels that said such.
