The dusty as-found presentation of many long-idled cars adds novelty and properly documents their “before” state. However, suggesting that buyers will pay more to remove the layers of dust themselves, relishing the mysterious air of possibility, would be misguided. Buyers appreciate viewing a car looking its best. Tip your hat to the seller of this 1969 Chevrolet Corvette in Napoleon, Ohio, for displaying a car that needs attention in many areas, but has been cleaned enough to represent what’s for sale. Starting with the numbers-matching original 427 cid V8 and four-speed manual transmission, this Fathom Green ‘Vette should attract many suitors. Whether that will translate into a quick sale at the $29,995 asking price here on Hemmings is another matter.
Chevrolet offered numerous engine options in the 1969 Corvette, and this appears to be the L68, a 427 cid variant of the Mark IV big block V8 that would have come with a trio of two-barrel carburetors. Least wild of three 427 offerings, the L68 definitely kicks hard enough to scare many passengers, not to mention a healthy percentage of its drivers. Oddly no details are offered regarding its operating condition, so we must assume it’s locked up tight. Good news, though! The Tri-Power setup and other parts not installed are included with the sale.
The original leather driver’s seat has been recovered at some point, though a mix of new and original interior parts not shown here do come with the purchase. The all green color scheme may not be everyone’s favorite, but it’s certainly more interesting than another one in all-black.
A shiny fiberglass Corvette body can mask catastrophic rust in its mechanical structure. The lack of under-car pictures or mention of rust in the listing suggests buyers should front a host of questions or preferably inspect the vehicle before striking a deal.
Engine-size call-outs adorned many cars in the late ’60s and early ’70s, so why not brag about your awesome specifications on the inside as well? Nifty fiber optics let you monitor the status of headlights (low and high beam) and front turn signals. The rear panel (shown above) indicates the operating status of rear lights. Would you pay $29,995 for a chance to restore this C3 Corvette to its former glory?
I would NEVER buy anything from that guy
IMHO looks like the guy ran out of turd polish- I could be wrong but with the condition under the hood would scare me into thinking that’s what the frame and birdcage like–ohio car—Caveat emptor- sure looks good on the outside and the bigblock 4 speed would haul the groceries nicely.Good luck and looker over good!!
Cheers

Looks like an L-36 motor?? Could of come with AC!
This car needs a lot of work. Sad, because at first glance, it looks nice. Nope.
Too much money for what you are getting. Try half that amount and you might have something.
Hmmmmm looks strangely like the showroom of a dealerships website that I used to frequent. It’s pretty sad when there’s no business, that you have to advertise on here.
I think ProTeam advertised this car in Hemmings. I also think it is here for our general interest. A lot of folks don’t like ProTeam but they have been around for a long time.
with good reason
not to like them too …
Some assembly required.
This thing looks like its been restored in the first pic, but the condition of the motor probably indicates what’s underneath the frame.Sad, because this could be such a cool car. Hopefully someone restores it to its former 427 glory!
Also looks like rear end damage….being repaired (that is). This seller is a real dreamer. $10,000.00 tops. Then, I would have to go through it from front bumper to rear bumper, top to bottom, inside and out. Guess I better refinance the house….
I know where one of these is, same color combo, numbers matching, never whacked or stolen, survivor w/64k miles, in the original owners hands…it was the first car my mom said I lost my mind over as a baby. The car still makes me smile
Stupid comment!!
Isn’t the 400 HP a tri-power in this year?
Yes. 400 hp is the oval port tri-power and the 435 hp is the rectangular port tri-power.
Yes & you can get AC with this engine.
Yes
