This 1974 Jensen-Healey has been in storage since 1998 and the seller claims that it has only covered 60k miles. They also claim that it is still wearing its original paint and doesn’t have any rust or dents. Oh, there is that hole in the floor! That could be an easy fix, or it might turn out to be a deal breaker here. No mention is made about the condition of the engine either and with any Jensen-Healey, that has us concerned. With their twin-cam Lotus engines, they were spirited, but they could also be temperamental and that means that many of these cars ended up parked as a result of serious mechanical problems. Let’s just hope that is not the case here. You can find it here on eBay out of Los Angeles, California if you’re interested. Just make sure you take a look in person before handing over any cash.

How does the Jensen stack up against the 53 Kaiser, so far as best buy?
I wonder. the body is rust free but there is rust in both corners of the trunk and back fascia. Also the hood appears to be mis-aligned. Rear end accident?
These poorly written ads drive me crazy. How can it be rust free but need a new floor because the old one rusted out? I bet the fuel tank did too.
Hey Todd, thanks for your great observations which I surely missed, being taken by the great photo.
I worked for the Jensen-Healey dealer on Van Nuys Blvd when these cars were new. The tops fit so badly that even in the very rare L.A. rain the floors would fill up with water like a bath tub. The only “cure” (since it was impossible to make the tops water-tight) was to remove the rubber bung plugs from the floor pan beneath the floor mats so the water would run right through and not collect on the floor. That was not only my duty, but my idea. I guess this one came from a different dealership!
Thanks for your input, “Brakeservo.” Helped make up my mind about not touching this project.
Note to seller. If you flunked English in high school, you should get someone else to write your adds.
Can I now refer to my 93 Volvo 960 wagon as a shooting brake?
