The 1979 Dodge Ramcharger SE was originally referred to as the “rhino” likely because of its immense presence. These vehicles are multi-purpose and highly capable machines on and off the road. They were Dodge’s response to the Ford Bronco and the Chevrolet Blazer which is apparent in the design and styling, they all have a similar look. This 1979 Dodge Ramcharger SE has only 79k miles and is listed on eBay. The bidding ends Sunday, November 8th.
The Dodge Ramcharger is finished in original two-tone Sable Sunfire Metallic and Soft Cashmere. The paint appears to be in good condition for the car’s age, though the seller notes there are some stone chips and scratches throughout. The car is equipped with a removable hard top, push bar, and front light bar. The Dodge wears US MAG wheels with Toyo M/T tires that are said to have decent tread. The vehicle also has a 4-inch lift kit installed which gives it a more aggressive look.
The interior is finished in Saddle vinyl with khaki fabric seat inserts. The interior is in great condition with no obvious damage shown. The Sport trim came with a woodgrain dash and door panels as well as a modular center console, though this example is said to be missing its removable beverage chest. The seller also installed new carpet. The cabin offers a comfortable and functional environment for long road trips or off-road adventures.
A 318ci V8 engine sends power to all four wheels via a 3-speed automatic transmission. A 35-gallon fuel tank was optioned with the vehicle, as well as an NP203 transfer case, and an anti-spin differential. The car is said to run well and is accompanied by extensive service records. This is a great option for someone who wants a Sporty off-road capable machine that has been well-kept. The Ramcharger still has lots of life left for its next owner to enjoy. If you are interested in calling this “rhino” yours bid on eBay before the auction ends on November 8th.
Sara my experience w 4x4s up in the air is they obviously have alot of comprimises. Geometry, strain on components, handling, braking..
One correction is that appears to end Dec 8th not November 8th.
I love these more than the Bronco and Blazer versions. Wish it was closer.
Am I missing the location?

I owned a 1978 Ramcharger for 9 years one great vehicle , towed everything , pushed snow and just enjoyed it , finally the tin worm got the best o fit !! Hope this one finds a good home!
I have owned 3 of these Ramchargers. All 3 with 318 automatics. The last one but st free. I t has been awhile. Price has gone crazy. The only thing I can say is 8 or 8 MPG. MAYBE . On the highway at 65MPH you.might get 9MPG. You can’t kill them other than rust.
Husband #2 had one of these. Same color, high off the ground. Took the top off and drove all summer with no top. Not a good idea during summer thunderstorms.
We were at a junkyard in Jersey getting parts for my ’72 Riviera when a tow truck bringing a car into the yard came in too fast, slid on the stones and hit our truck. (T-boned)
And guggie13 I agree, once those tinworms start eating them there’s no stopping them.
