Beautiful One Owner 1979 Ford Bronco

Second-generation Broncos aren’t as popular as their first-gen cousins, but they are certainly gaining popularity (and value). This one is from 1979 and can be found here on eBay with a requested opening bid of $19,000. According to the window sheet, this Bronco would have cost you about $8,900 when it was new, which was quite a bit in the late 70s. Located in Newburgh, Indiana, the seller says they recently purchased it from the original owner who only drove it in the winter. Check out the amazing condition of this survivor Bronco!

For the most part, the interior looks brand new. The two-tone blue is a great color combination and it doesn’t look like it needs any improvement. The dash pad appears to have no cracks and the upholstery is flawless.

The 351 cubic inch V8 is backed by a 4-speed transmission. The odometer shows 41,193 miles and if the story about it only being driven in the winter, that number could be true mileage. You can see in this photo, the truck also features power brakes. The ad doesn’t say how it runs, but they did say the carburetor was rebuilt after it sat in storage for a while.

Overall, this is a sharp-looking Bronco. The Dark Blue Metallic and Wimbledon white “Tu-Tone” paint looks great. The seller does say there is a bit of rust on the driver’s side quarter panel, but other than that, no issues are mentioned. What are your thoughts on this second-gen Bronco?

Nice Bronco. Interest in these sure has picked up in recent years. Kudos for lots of pics, but a close-up of the rusty spot would have been nice. With the 4-speed it will drive like the truck that it is. So as long as the buyer doesn’t think it will act just like their modern SUV, he or she should be happy.

I owned a used 79 Bronco with the 400M and a 4 speed in the early 90’s. It would plow 3 foot of snow like nothing in granny gear and rode really smooth on the highway. Only drawback, try getting more than 10 MPG.

The one vehicle my ex-wife couldn’t kill. Also, had the worst gas mileage of any vehicle. I think my diesel trucks got better. Great find, most rusted away.

1 of my fav looking vehicles (’73/9 F-series). We laughed at them when they came out yellin “pig” as the MPGs were pretty sad and the gasoline industry starting their down slide. Now I have some more resect form them and even less for the petro-chem industry (all of it, plastics’n petrol the most).

    Needs a 5 speed’n ’96 4.9L to haul my “EB” ;^ )

How many of these were Ranger packages and would that add value?
