UPDATE – The seller had an emergency just come up and has to put a pause on the auction. Hopefully, they will be able to restart the auction!

The midsized SUV market has taken off, and not surprisingly, General Motors is right in the middle of the mix with several offerings. This 2006 Chevrolet TrailBlazer EXT LT 4×4, listed as a Barn Finds Auction, is one of the company’s extended wheelbase line of trucks. With 16 inches of additional wheelbase, the EXT models give enough room for seven passengers to lounge in coddled comfort. This is also an LT model with added luxury touches, and the seller says it’s been modified a bit for more power.

Appearing almost flawless, this 2006 TrailBlazer looks nice. The giveaway for an EXT, or extended, model is the crisp rear cut line on the back doors, they don’t go around the rear fender wells as on a shorter model. The Bordeaux Red paint appears perfect in the many photos the seller has provided. Chevy offered the first-generation TrailBlazer from 2001 for the 2002 model year until 2009.

The rear gate opens to provide a wide loading area, or you can just open the rear glass to put in a grocery bag or two. That’s a very handy feature. For safety reasons, a backup camera has been added to this example, and it has a receiver hitch for towing duties. The LT models had a new rear and front fascia, updated headlights, grille, and some trim.

As with the exterior, the interior looks fantastic in this TrailBlazer. I don’t see a flaw anywhere, and it seems like a very comfortable ride. The seats appear almost perfect, all three rows of them, enough for six of your friends to ride along on a road trip. The sunroof operates as it should, as does everything, according to the seller. There is a DVD player in the rear seating area that folds down from the headliner for those long road trips. This one has new tires, new brake pads, and a new Sony stereo with a backup camera.

The engine is Chevy’s 5.3-liter OHV V8, and the seller says it’s been modified with a new Texas Speed Chopacabra Cam, decked heads, new springs, rockers, lifters, and head gaskets, new Speed Engineering long-tube headers, PCM tune, an electric fan, and more. It’s said to run perfectly and have more than enough power to haul you and a half-dozen friends to the lake while pulling a boat. It sends power through a four-speed automatic to all four wheels as needed and can be found listed here as a Barn Finds Auction!

She sure looks clean from here. The engine upgrades should satisfy the daily user and road warrior. Chevy did a good job with their 7/8 Suburban.

I could be a bidder on this. I will keep a look out for it.

Who in their right mind would buy a trailblazer. There are tons of them in junk yards and there is probably a reason for that. Good luck to the seller though
