We don’t usually check out vehicles newer than a couple of decades old, but most of us are big fans of pickups, no matter what they are or what era they’re from. They’re especially interesting when they’re in such nice condition and have a manual transmission, as this 2007 Nissan Frontier SE King Cab 6-speed pickup does. This one is located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and the seller has it listed here as a Barn Finds Auction!

Known in some other markets as the Nissan Navara, the D21 Hardbody replacement was introduced in the U.S. in 1997 as the Nissan Frontier. Made in Nissan’s facility in Smyrna, Tennessee, the Frontier was available in a regular single-cab configuration and a King-Cab with extra space behind the front seats. A Crew-Cab with four doors also came along. This King-Cab hits the sweet spot for me, interior space-wise.

Storm Gray is the color of this truck, and I really like Nissan’s detail on the tailgate. I don’t know why all truck makers don’t do that. The second-generation D40 Frontier was offered here from 2004 until 2021, and they were styled to look like a smaller Nissan Titan, the company’s full-sized pickup. This truck has 79,000 miles, and the seller says it’s in pristine, showroom condition.

The interior looks as nice as the exterior does, with nice seats, no apparent dash cracks or other issues. The six-speed manual makes this a fun truck to drive, and the space behind the two front bucket seats will hold a couple of people or a lot of gear. It looks perfect back there, as well. The seller provides a list of maintenance going back to October of 2006, when this truck was bought new at a Nissan dealership in Mesquite, Texas.

Made at Nissan’s engine plant in Decherd, Tennessee, this uber-clean engine is Nissan’s 4Q40DE, a 4.0-liter DOHC V6 with a healthy 261 horsepower and 281 lb-ft of torque. Backed by the fun-to-shift six-speed manual, it sends power to the rear wheels, and this one is said to be a great example, and it sure looks like it is. Check it out here as a Barn Finds Auction!

I have had one of these trucks and the 4.0 engine is a great one coupled with the 6 speed manual you have a great combination. That truck is spotless the selling price reflects that.

So sends power to the rear wheels is the answer to his 4wd question ?

I owned a 2018 model. It had 3 wheel hubs replaced before 75 k costing about 700 bucks. Other than that, it was ok. The rear storage space is ok. If you travel a lot you’ll be wishing for more room

I have a 2010 Crew Cab 4wd with the 4.0 but an automatic. I would have preferred the 6 speed but when buying used you have to take what is available. I bought mine primarily as a tow vehicle, and it fits the bill perfectly. It is a matter or specific opinion, but I ranked the Nissan higher than the Toyota. This one will sell for near the asking price, and someone will get a good deal in the process.

I bought a 2018, crew cab version of this truck, new. Before doing so, I visited a Toyota dealership to test drive a Tacoma, also was equipped with a six-speed manual transmissions. While both trucks were impressive, I chose the Frontier, preferring it because it offered significantly more low-end torque than the Tacoma. The Frontier is still my daily drive, and at 80,000+ miles, it has required absolutely no maintenance other than regular oil changes–even the brakes are still original. My sole criticism lies with the wide steering radius, which makes maneuvering in confined spaces frustrating

Mine is a Storm Gray 2008 automatic with just over 100000 miles. But mine has been used as a truck.

I have a 2019 Frontier King cab SV, just under 20k miles on 4 liter/auto trans.
One thing that bugs me is the battery is 7″x7″x10″, 550 cold crank amps., best I can get from NAPA.
Sub zero temps of N Dakota means an electric battery rap is needed.
    So far, so good though.

The sole drawback to this combination is that the engine is an interference type, but I’ve a 2006 6 spd 4WD with 261k on the original motor and tho it needs paint (courtesy of our Nevada offroad pinstriping) and some upholstery work it’s perfect. The MPG isn’t all that great but what would you expect from 265HP pushing a great offroad shoebox along at 70MPH? It does 20 MPG all day long anyway..

I don’t peruse Barn Finds to look at used 2WD import pickups. Of those, Nissan is battling Honda Ridgeline for last place. 🥱

I am surprised no one has grabbed this. Must be that third pedal. I might have been interested in it myself but I still have my 02 Frontier Crew Cab, purchased new. Still has the original drivetrain, original AC, etc. Somebody here is going to get a nice truck.
