It’s a fact of economic reality: Many of us have new car hearts and used car incomes. While we ogle that new Yukon on our local dealer’s lot, with its sticker price edging closer and closer to $100,000, we often find our way over to the used car lot where prices may be more palatable. The problem is that asking prices for used SUVs are often within a few thousand dollars of a newer model, so what is there to do? One option is to find an older, rust-free used car with more miles on it, and this 2013 Yukon Denali being offered as a Barn Finds Auction may be a perfect fit. The Connecticut-based seller says that it’s never been driven in snow (and rarely in rain), and he has included dozens of pictures of the wheelwells and door jambs to prove that salt intrusion is not an issue that the new owner will have to worry about. If you’re looking for a fully-loaded SUV for a fraction of the price of a new one, read on.

Even of you set aside the fact that this GMC is twelve years old and has 218,000 miles on the clock, it is in shockingly good condition. The seller says that the interior is “98% perfect,” and the pictures verify his claim. With ebony leather upholstery, the Denali was the top-of-the-line Yukon for 2013; power seats, adjustable pedals, and a heated steering wheel were all standard (the heated steering wheel is especially nice on cold mornings).

The rear seats look as if they’ve hardly been used, and you also get the rear-seat entertainment system, which includes an eight-inch flip-down screen and a DVD player (if you still have any DVDs lying around).

The standard engine in the Denali was the 6.2-liter “L94” V8 with a rousing 403 horsepower and 417 lb.-ft. of torque, all channeled through a six-speed automatic straight to the rear axle (this is a two-wheel-drive model). With its 3.42:1 axle ratio, the Denali will tow an 8,300-pound trailer, if that’s something you plan to do with your new-to-you SUV. The seller has maintained the engine with Mobil 1 the entire time he’s owned it.

Sure, this Yukon might not be a traditional “Barn Find,” but car fanatics also need daily drivers, and I’d imagine that many of you aren’t afraid of a 200,000+ odometer reading when it comes to a modern truck. If you’ve been looking for a rust-free used SUV, this “Quicksilver Metallic” Denali might be it. Bid now!

Well taken care of. We’ve a 2001 4×4 Tahoe with 253k 5.2L “snow car” that’s still running strong, so mileage shouldn’t be a factor for anyone looking at this one.

My girlfriend has one with 50k miles, garage kept, with the big block. She bought it new. That thing leaps onto the highway with a growl.
