  • Mileage: 28,500 Shown
  • Chassis #: 1G4GJ1179HP429973
  • Title Status: Clean
  • Engine: 3.8-Liter Turbocharged V6
  • Transmission: TH-200-4R

This 1987 Buick Grand National is powered by a turbocharged 3.8-liter V6 paired with a TH-200-4R four-speed automatic transmission and is finished in black over two-tone gray-and-black cloth upholstery. Equipment includes a factory AstroRoof, digital instrumentation, Concert Sound stereo, cruise control, a six-way power driver seat, power windows and locks, a tilt steering column, and a factory trunk dress-up kit. The car shows 28,500 miles and is offered as a BF Auction with a clean title in Hereford, Arizona.

The Grand National was Buick’s turbocharged performance flagship of the 1980s, and the 1987 model year marked the final and most developed version of the platform. This example is said to retain mostly original paint, except for a repainted decklid and hood. The seller notes that the hood was repaired after a shop burned through the paint while polishing it. Exterior details include Grand National graphics, a hood bulge with 3.8 SFI Turbo badging, black bumpers and trim, dual side mirrors, and 15-inch turbine-style wheels mounted with raised-white-letter BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires.

The cabin features two-tone gray-and-black cloth bucket seats with matching rear upholstery, black carpeting, and Grand National floor mats. Interior equipment includes the digital dash, factory-style center stack, tilt steering column, cruise control, six-way power driver seat, power accessories, and Concert Sound stereo. A 6-disc CD player and an A-pillar-mounted boost gauge have been added. The seller notes a minor flaw on the dash pad, while the dash speaker grilles remain intact.

The turbocharged 3.8-liter V6 features sequential fuel injection and sends power to the rear wheels through a TH-200-4R automatic transmission. Minor modifications include a K&N air filter and a Kenne Bell cold-air intake. During the seller’s ownership, the air-conditioning system was serviced, with the car receiving a new compressor, accumulator, and condenser. The seller states that everything works as it should except the power antenna and trunk-release button.

The trunk is finished with the factory dress-up kit and contains the spare tire. The RPO sticker remains in place and indicates that the car was optioned with equipment including the G80 limited-slip differential. Additional photos of the underside are included in the gallery.

This Grand National is described as a highly optioned example with the desirable AstroRoof and digital dashboard combination, 28,500 miles, clean title, and largely original paint. Between the mileage, condition, and options, this is a rare find. If you’d love to be its next owner, cast your high bid below!
