With summer fast approaching, there are few things more attractive than the prospect of hitting the road in a classic Convertible for a wind-in-the-hair motoring experience. If affordability is a consideration, this 2007 Pontiac G6 GT Convertible could be an ideal choice. It presents exceptionally well, and the owner recently invested a significant sum to ensure this survivor is mechanically sound. The buyer only needs to hand over their cash and head into the sunset for genuine motoring pleasure. The owner has listed this Pontiac exclusively at Barn Finds in Draper, Utah, at an asking price of $5,000 or best offer.

Pontiac introduced the G6 for the 2005 model year, and a G6 was the final vehicle to roll off the production line before General Motors retired the marque. A Convertible variant, featuring a retractable hardtop, joined the range in 2006 and remained available until 2009. This G6 Convertible was built in 2007 and ordered by its first owner in Liquid Silver Metallic. Its presentation is extremely tidy for a vehicle with nineteen years of active service under its belt. The paint isn’t patchy or developing matte areas, and the panels are free from bumps and bruises. The top fits snugly and functions properly, providing excellent protection. There are no rust issues, and the glass is clear. The original alloy wheels are wrapped in new Goodyear Eagle LS tires.

This G6 GT continues Pontiac’s history of producing automobiles with above-average performance. It features the range-topping 3.9-liter V6, producing 227hp and 235 ft/lbs of torque. Power is delivered to the road via a four-speed automatic transmission with manual-shift mode, with power steering, anti-lock brakes, and traction control as standard. The owner purchased the car a few years ago and has invested a significant sum that ensures the buyer will slip behind the wheel of a turnkey classic. He replaced the fuel pump, water pump, power steering pump and hoses, brakes, and air conditioning compressor. He describes the Pontiac as highly enjoyable to drive, noting that its V6 delivers surprising performance.

Life aboard this Pontiac will be safe and luxurious. The interior features airbags, climate-control air conditioning, power windows, power locks, power mirrors, cruise control, and a CD player. The first owner ticked the box beside the Premium Package, adding a six-way power driver’s seat, heating for both front seats, leather trim on the seats and wheel, the Remote Vehicle Starter System, and an XM Satellite Radio. The interior presentation is impressive for a vehicle of this age, especially one driven as its creators intended. There is no significant wear or evidence of UV damage, with the leather looking supple and inviting. The seller confirms that all features function as intended and are free of known faults or issues.

There’s a lot to like about classics like this 2007 Pontiac G6 GT, especially in Convertible form. The company’s decision to adopt a folding metal roof means that this isn’t a fair-weather proposition. It could serve admirably in all weather conditions, offering better protection than typically provided by a traditional soft-top. That means that it ticks a crucial practicality box. Given its affordability and excellent fuel economy, this classic can be a reliable daily driver. The recent mechanical work means it is a turnkey proposition. Combine those factors, and this G6 GT deserves a closer look.

Never did like the two door or the hardtop convertible. Styling was awkward in my opinion. The sedan proportions were better. I test drove a G6 GTP sedan, it would fly.
Disagree. The convertible looks fine to me. I think the last Saab 9-3 shared the same platform as this, talk about awkward . The mileage is a little scary though.
