This 1966 Chevrolet Corvette convertible is a well-restored C2 with its matching-numbers 327 V8 and four-speed manual transmission. Finished in Trophy Blue with a Dark Blue interior and a black soft top, this Sting Ray has undergone a frame-on restoration and now shows in excellent condition. Located in Cynthiana, Kentucky, it’s being offered here on Barn Finds. With tasteful period upgrades and plenty of included extras, this Corvette is ready to be driven, shown, or simply enjoyed.

The 327-cubic-inch small-block is rated at 300 horsepower and retains its original HE-code block (engine number F0406HE, casting 3858174). The seller notes that a new clutch, throwout bearing, starter, and aluminum radiator were installed recently, along with fresh tires, new gauges, and tail lights. The original AM/FM radio and teakwood steering wheel are still in place, adding to its factory appeal.

While the restoration stayed close to stock, a few desirable upgrades were added, including a side-exit exhaust system and bolt-on knockoff wheels—both popular options in 1966 that give the Corvette a sportier, more aggressive look. The black convertible top pairs nicely with the Trophy Blue finish, and the car’s overall condition suggests it has been well cared for since its restoration.

Included with the sale are several extra parts: a rebuilt carburetor, a water pump, various electrical components, and the original rims and covers should the next owner want to return it to a more factory-correct appearance. The clean title and VIN (194676S119626) are listed, along with the rear axle ID (AM4466), body build date (I11), and body number (A-6137), which further confirm the car’s originality.

C2 Corvettes have remained strong performers in the collector market, with convertibles like this offering a mix of open-air driving enjoyment and investment potential. Whether you’re after a Corvette to drive and enjoy or one to proudly show at local cruise-ins, this Trophy Blue Sting Ray checks all the right boxes.

Would you keep the side pipes and knockoff wheels for that classic mid-’60s performance vibe, or would you swap back to the factory wheels for a more original look?

I’ve always liked the look of side pipes on a C2, and earlier C3s too, so I’d keep them. Same for the wheels.
Very nice car.
I live in Lexington ky I would love to come see the car in person please advise

somebody screwed with the wheel wells……………..looks terrible
Growing up in the ’50s&-60s. A black convert was the only centerfold on my wall. I guess that at an early age I was a gear head. I blame my Dad! (lol) He was driving a 1958 Corvette. ()
I don’t see a link to the ad or price.
It’s a Barn Find sale. Asking price is at the very top of the posting, and there is a “make offer” button right next to it. You’re welcome.

Let me say that again…
Thank you (twice)!
I like the wheels and the sidepipes and the slightly radiused wheelwells don’t bother me. But I’d put on some aluminum valve covers.
