It’s good to see the seller consider selling outright, as the trade deal rarely seems to work out. I tried it with one car years ago and got exactly zero bites. As a big block car with a manual transmission, this seller should have no issue selling this factory A/C example. The chrome bumpers are in nice shape, and while it’s hard to verify the quality of the paint, the seller thankfully returned to the factory Corvette Bronze color scheme when the car was repainted.
The 454 big block is not numbers matching, as the seller notes it was missing when he purchased the car. A 454 date-coded to 1973 was installed, and the seller claims there was less than 50,000 miles on the replacement engine. Numerous mechanical updates have been addressed, including a new water pump, radiator, power steering assembly, fuel tank/sending unit, brake booster, and more. The list goes on, indicating most mechanical needs have been addressed.
The interior is really where the bulk of the additional work lies, as the seller either got bored or didn’t feel like completing before the sale. The carpets are tired and the seats need new foam inserts and covers. Door panels have been removed with no explanation offered, and there’s a healthy amount of wiring pulled from the dash. I would also offer that the dash and console pieces look fairly rough as well. It’s a decent driver, but is this not-quite-done project worth $14K?
A chrome bumper big block 4 speed and mew paint, won’t take long to sell at that price even with a NOM. I wish I had the bucks.

Since it will never be numbers matching, you can do all of the 70’s modifications to it. Chrome Hooker side pipes, triple taillights and fixed headlight with plexiglass covers. You would be the coolest guy at the local burger joint.
Rather have a Vette that’s not numbers matching, have more fun with it! Glad it’s 2K miles away! Perfect color combo too.

Wow. Cheap. GM built 4,473 but block cars for 70 model year. Only about 17,000 Corvettes built that year due to a strike. And that color Corvette Bronze offered only in 68 and 70. Dynamite color if you’ve never seen it. I just did a mechanical restoration on my 73 coupe and I can tell you this car is a bargain. Interiors can be $$$$, but carpet is cheap and easy to install. Radiators, a good one like DeWitt, cost a ton and the power steering control valve a mess to replace. 70 454 only year with high compression. In 71, it dropped. With C2 cars being for the rich, this is a grest buy as long as the birdcage and frame isn’t rusty. If you think Corvettes don’t rust you are seriously mistaken.
I spent that much on the paint job for my 64. So yeah, not too bad, but the parts to get this car right and a long way left to go makes it a hard sell for me. the list of what needs to be done is a whole lot longer than what is in the ad.

45 years in the car business and I had to look up what that meant. Must be an American thing, never have seen it before in Canada and I’ve literally read hundreds of thousands of car ads.

NOM really doesn’t make sense anyway. It’s not a motor, it’s an engine.
It sounds like a bargain to me, yes the biggest expense would be the interior but it is entirely do-able by a competent DIY’r, I’ve done it to an ’80 that I once owned and was very surprised about how simple and easy it was. The seller states that the birdcage work was done , so that statement makes this a no-brainer as far as a car to buy. Providing the frame is rust free in the common rust prone areas.
Had the same year in a drop top, 350 LT1 & M22, Marlboro maroon & black Hooker 4 into 1 sides. This price isn’t too bad & since NOM, since having to replace the bulk of the interior & originality is moot, I’d make it a black interior for this. Never liked the saddle.
I prefer the version you had to be honest. Everyone goes nuts about big blocks in Corvettes. This is a cool example of a car. I love Corvettes and I love big blocks. I’m not a fan of them together in one package though. I’m more about handling than straight line performance. So for my tastes in older Corvettes I’ll take a decent small block any day of the week!
It looks to me like the steering column and passenger floor have mold on them!! It’s a nice looking car and I am looking at a picture so I can’t be sure but I’m wondering if it was stored in a damp environment or was in the water at some point!!
