This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro convertible has been stored in a warehouse for over 30 years and was last on the road in 1982! It can be found here on eBay with a current bid of $15,400. Located in Goshen, New York, the seller says it retains all of its original body panels including the floors and trunk pan. Unfortunately, there aren’t any photos of the iconic grille/headlight combination. Hopefully, the seller will provide some more detailed photos to prospective buyers. Check out this cool convertible and let us know what you think of this find.
As you can tell from the ad, the interior has been pretty much stripped down to the metal. The car was originally painted light green with a deluxe green interior, which was probably a very nice combination when new. Unfortunately, there isn’t a photo of the engine compartment in the ad. The seller says it has a 350/350 combo with a floor shifter, but the radiator is removed. There is no mention of whether the engine is free or if it was running when it was parked. Maybe the radiator was the reason it was taken off the road? There is mention of a date-coded 427 and 512 block that could be included, but it’s not clear how much that will add to the price.
As you can see, the original green paint was replaced with brown in the early 1980s. The fenders, doors, and hood look pretty good, but you can see the trunk lid and quarters have quite a bit of paint damage. Perhaps the car was stored with the rear end exposed? What do you think of this car? Would you leave it brown or?
Todays market? I say, about $500, maybe 750 if you find an anxious buyer.
A 1969 Camaro ragtop for $750.00 ? This isn’t 1976 !
You’re talking about one of the most popular car styles to come around ; sure it needs to be restored , but its solid and pretty complete for a 51 year old convertible . I know I’m one of the few who arent really into these , but there are thousands that are – this will go for some big money
Big money? Dream on. Haven’t you noticed, the world is changed. Next year there might be soup lines, not people lining up to buy rusty old junk.
sold for $15,500
Sold for $15,000 with lots of interest…..I guess SMDA doesn’t really no the market on these cars!
The X11 code means one of two things…either this car is an original SS, or it’s just a plain Camaro. The same code was used for both trims of the iconic F-Body in 1969.
Those are non-RS tail lamp lenses, and no backup lenses present in the rear valence panel. Hmmmmm….
By virtue of the visible blotch and run on the passengers’ fender, could be one of my 200 foo.t paint jobs. No pics of the eng and underside, with a lift in the background. Looks solid inside, need a good inspection. I’m an hour or so from this one, so if you need someone to take a look, call Charlie at 845-635-3663, or cell, 845-554-6095. Good luck!!
Cheers

Painted in the early 80s and stored since 1982? My old Kirby vacuum cleaner had a paint sprayer attachment, maybe they used one of those?
