Bruce Wayne’s C3? 1980 Chevrolet Corvette Batman Edition

Disclosure: This site may receive compensation from some link clicks and purchases.

There are countless ways to modify a C3 Corvette. From the “bread van” style conversions to dragster builds to Concours restorations, Corvette enthusiasts have never been limited in their options. Perhaps, however, there should be some guardrails in place to prevent cars such as this one from seeing the light of day. That said, if you’re a Batman fan, there’s likely nothing wrong with the excess on display in this listing for a heavily customized 1980 Chevrolet Corvette. Find the full listing here on craigslist where the car is located in Lutz, Florida with a $16,500 asking price.

The Corvette has always been a target for these civilian-built Batmobiles, as the chassis has been used for any number of replica builds of different versions of the movie car. The 1989 version of the movie featured one of the wildest Batmobiles yet, and a C4 car has been used for a tribute build. The C3 like our subject car has also been used for building a replica of Batman’s sinister ride from the Michael Keaton era, but I’m not sure which generation of the film this build is trying to recreate. It actually doesn’t appear to be a replica at all and is just one Batman fan’s passion project.

Full disclosure: I would not win a Batman-themed trivia contest. So if I’m wrong on that assessment, please correct me. This C3 replica has the iconic snout and all-black appearance of the 1989 movie car, even though its a disaster proportion-wise. This is not my cup of tea, but I certainly can appreciate someone keeping the legend of the original Batman movies alive – I’m just not sure I would modify a car that could otherwise be a decent Sunday driver, especially if the general shape of the vehicle doesn’t factor into the custom touches. Wasn’t there a Hyundai Accent available?

I can appreciate the work put into this creation but that car is going to be a tough sell.

From the decal on the right rear it looks like a tribute to Adam West, thats ok by me. I dont think anyone is going to miss one 1980 Corvette.

    That… is a thing.

Thankfully not a rare or valuable car, so it is fine.

    Just not my thing.

    No sale.

If real flames don’t shoot out of the back, I’m out. The only Batmobile worth having is the George Barris version from the 1960s. :D

One Batman fan’s passion project..one too many. I wouldn’t be caught dead in that, yet there are lots of people who like them. Good luck to the seller.

Looks to yet another case of high ambition meeting bad taste. Not uncommon enough for me.

It could be successfully argued that a low-mile original 1980 350/4-speed car is worth less than the ask, so someone’s REALLY got to want the Batman stuff–especially if this is a 305 car. That someone already owns it, and likely will for some time to come.

The “BATMAN” lettering in the iconic door logos was brought to you by the Department of Redundancy Department.

Alter ego of hundredaire playboy Wayne Bruce, who turned to fighting crime when his parents got killed by an errant t-shirt cannon at a monster truck rally.

Gives new meaning to “beauty is in the eye of the beer-holder”. Nice work though. Maybe a joker will bid.

If there was ever a reason to wear a mask to conceal ones identity, driving this car is it.

Well, that’s different. Years ago at a car show I saw a guy in a Capt America costume and had his C7 Vette wrapped to match the shield and Capt theme. I thought he was a total kook and then met him and found out he was Pediatric Cancer doc who did it just to take kids in his care for a ride. Ended up donating 100 bucks to his charity he was running.
So, buy it and put on the Batsuit and take sick kids from hospitals for a ride. That would put a smile on there face.

I think there was a typo on the asking price. The comma should have been a period.

I’ve seen a similar one in Vermont and in NH. This guy at Hemmings had a Trans-Am “Batmobile” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fi7rJfSrW58

I’d have to inspect the “birdcage”. This might still find salvation as a chassis donor.

Steve, growing older is required. Growing up is a choice. I’m all for enduring adolescence as long as no one is hurt.
