Can You Find A Better One? Olds Toronado

1966 Oldsmobile Toronado

Disclosure: This site may receive compensation from some link clicks and purchases.

We recently had a fun idea for a new feature called, “Can You Find A Better One?”. In this new feature, we will present a car that we find somewhere on the web that is currently for sale. We will post the car and then open up the comments section for you guys to post a better one! Now the goal here isn’t to find the shiniest restored example you can, it’s to find one that is either in better shape for the same price (or less!) or one that is in equivalent condition for less money. We want to find the best deals out there, while also making it a bit of a competition to see who is the best online hunter! So for today’s CYFBO, I present this 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado found here on eBay an asking price of $8,500

So typically these posts will be short, since it isn’t as much about the car we find, but about the good deals you guys find! This first one is going to be a bit longer though so I can go over a few things. First off, unlike our normal submission process, you don’t need to email your CYFBO find to us, just post it right in the comments. It can be as simple as just posting the link to your find or if your feeling real competitive, you can even explain why your find is the better deal. And just to reiterate, the goal isn’t to find fully restored alternatives, but to find the best deal available. Also, normally self promotion of your own car would be frowned upon in a post, but if it is the same model and really is a better deal than what we found, feel free to post.

Oldsmobile Toronado

Alright guys, lets get this first CYFBO kicked off! Can you find a “better” 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado than the one we found? Good luck and I can’t wait to see what you guys find!

The auction has ended with the Toronado being sold for the Buy-It-Now price of $8,500.

I like this new feature, but I couldn’t find a better Toronado for that price. I guess the buyer was in the same situation, so he bought the car. It looks terrific and is said to run and drive excellent. It looks like a lot of good looking car for the money to me.

That was a hell of a deal for a very nice first year Toro. Bought well by the buyer at that price.

Unbelievable price. I would have gone and bought that today if it had been close to me.

    What a great car.
And I was in Alabama for a few days, just bopped over to Atlanta yesterday.
I agree that it would be hard to find a better deal.

I looked, and I couldn’t find a better one; at least not at a reasonable price. Nice car and I love the new feature, it should be fun.

      Pretty blatant color mismatch, though.

This one is a BYOC vehicle!! (bring your own cardboard for all the leaks underneath it)

If you are looking for a ’66 Toronado, this could be one to look at…
Listed on CL, 4 days ago, in Grand Island/St Edwards for $7500. Ad says the interior is near perfect and looking at the pictures, It may very well be so… Exterior needs some attention, doesn’t look to bad to me. Runs and drives great…

        :-D

And the color still looks way off,
        LOL
But with a full repaint it might be a nice car.

eBay for $1,600 four days to go and no reserve. Seller says it’s a project car with a description of what’s good, bad, and ugly. Lots of pictures of the rust….

A often over used phrased “It was way ahead of its time” this is a car that it applies too, Olds got it right the first time just about 10 years to early.

Here is one in Canada, with the exchange rate this one may be in the ball park for my US friends.

      Cool.
A friend in Richmond Hill still has the Toro that his family bought new when he was a kid.
      Canada rocks!
