Sprites can be great fun, if you fit… This 1960 Bugeye might be a good one if you’re in the market for an LBC. It needs some work on the floor, but appears to have been driven regularly. The sale also includes a bunch of spares including a 1275cc engine and a transmission. Find the whole lot here on eBay out of Monroeville, Pennsylvania. The seller has decided that it is time to liquidate everything they don’t use so they also have a Mini Moke and a nice TR8 listed! Thanks goes to Jim S. for the tip.
Jeepers creepers, where’d you get those eyes? If I wasn’t up to my eyeballs in work, I’d be thinking about a road trip to PA. Looks like a good deal if you don’t mind a project.
These are fun cars but when restored in tip-top condition are only worth about $15K…and that is top of the market for a perfect car. Don’t over pay and this will be a great project.
& an easy one since these have a very basic interior & power nothing, not even side glass or window regulators.
Correct on all points, Fun but not big buck value. Mmmmmmmmm, Dana Point. so jealous now. Be sure to go to the Newport Art Festival. So isolated here in CenCal.
The photos and detail in the listing aren’t too good but the car sure looks good. And it comes with lots of extra parts including a spare 1275. I hope the reserve is reasonable and someone gets a great deal on a nice, driveable bugeye…..and that the new owner can get the car, those 3 extra bonnets and all the rest of the extra stuff onto one trailer.
He also has the best TR8 I’ve seen in years listed now. Those should have been more successful and coveted than they were/are because they are classy and satisfying to drive providing you don’t want too much speed. This one has been hot rodded a bit, so that issue has probably been taken care of. The looks are a limiting factor for me, but with the top down on a nice summer night who cares that it’s not as good looking as a Tiger?
“Shape of things to come”, nice 8, I had a 7 coupe same color as this one, fun car really, they shared the same 4 cyl motor with Saab.
These get my vote for the happiest car ever built award.
I harbor long held fantasies of one day nipping the smiling front off of one of these bonnets and hanging to on my wall to bring cheer.
Seriously, message me if you have one lying about. :)
there is no question I’d take the Moke even if a RHD
