This 1971 Pontiac LeMans has only received one bid for $3,500. Based on its condition, I think they should take it because the car is really rough. It has not been started in eight years and the seller can’t get the hood to open. It is listed here on eBay with only 1 day remaining. The odometer shows 80,000 miles and the LeMans is located in Fontana, California. The seller states that this 2 door Pontiac was originally purchased by his grandfather and still retains its original engine and transmission although the ad doesn’t have any details about the drivetrain.
The trunk pic shows the original hub cabs. For the 1971 model year, Pontiac underwent a renaming and reorganization of its intermediate lineup, discontinuing the Tempest name entirely. The new lineup included the T-37, LeMans GT-37, LeMans, and LeMans Sport models, while the GTO and GTO Judge remained distinct lines. This car is said to have no rust but the car looks like it was stored outside.

I don’t think pulling hard on that hood is going to hurt with the big dent in it.
If it doesn’t open then a plasma cutter or cutoff wheel it is to get two big openings to the henge bolts after unbolting the front latch.

Its surprisingly solid, considering it looks like its been sitting out under that tree for decades . almost a 100% guarantee it has a 350 Pontiac under the hood . I’m wondering if just the trunk lid was replaced or the car was repainted at one point ; the latch has been painted been painted over , the lid could have been replaced from a junkyard and was painted to match the car. the 71-72s weren’t the best looking LeMans, but if someone was willing to do some work on this it could be a nice cruiser
On the front fender at the bottom it says 350. My Dad had the same color 1970 Lemans sport with a 1971 front on it You are correct about the engine.

My Dad has a 1970 Pontiac Lemans sport with a 1971 front on it same color. It has a 350 4bll carb on it with15 inch gto rims now. It used to be a 2bll carb with 14 inch rims and these same hubcaps on it. I rebuilt the engine in 2007 and added the gto valve covers, intake carb and rims. I would buy this one if I had the space for it.
