According to the seller, this is a combination of the front half of a 1984 Cadillac Coupe De Ville and the rear half of an El Camino. Honestly, I don’t agree; I think the rear part is just custom, but the fact that it actually has a tail gate moves it a couple levels above what these conversions normally are like. Thanks to Rocco B. for sending us this neat looking one-off! It’s listed for sale here on craigslist and is located in Emeryville, California. The seller is asking $10,000 for this unusual vehicle.
You can see the obvious high quality of the paint and body work in this shot. Wow. The chrome looks great, too.
The bed looks just as nice, too — although I’ll bet it’s never been used to haul anything! Again, whether you think a Cadillacamino is a good idea or not, no one can argue with the quality of this conversion.
As you might imagine, the interior looks pretty much like a stock 1984 Cadillac. Which, if you like 80’s American luxury isn’t a bad thing!
Under the hood looks a stock V8, but we’re actually told it’s the engine from an Impala SS, which would be an upgrade over the stock 4100 HT. We’re told it runs and drives great, which given the quality of the conversion work doesn’t surprise me. I’d love to drive this unique pickup–how about you?
Looks like a true craftsman built this project. I’d be curious to see what the vehicle title shows it to be.
The nose and the tail lights are from a ’90 or ’91 Fleetwood, which would also have had the Chevy 350 as the standard engine.
My only quibble would be concern that the motor swap was done in a way that’s CA smog legal. Aside from that it looks awesome. Functional tailgate is always the go/no go divider for me.
Perfect for those runs to Home Depot.
Very pretty. I’d prefer a 1960-65 Caddie for the conversion
Looks like they took an El Camino rear from the mid 70’s and grafted on the taillights. Looking at the back of one, not that difficult. The hard part was matching it to the Caddy front end.
Nicely done, but unlikely a 1984. Too many styling touches inside and out that say this is 1990 model. Also, look at the short side door that suggests this used to be a 4 door. Pretty easy to reshape the window frame and alter the door glass. It would be interesting to know how much plastic was used.
It’s been smogged three times since it got the plates (last time a year and a half ago) and it’s been done as an ’84 each time – so DMV and the BAR (Bureau of Automotive Repair) think it’s an ’84

Nice looking car. I imagine it gets you noticed a lot.
Probably an ’84 retrofitted with ’90-92 front clip and trim, as that same basic sedan body was produced from ’80 to ’92, always with the same body panels but various detail updates along the way including a major facelift in ’90.
At 10K, the labor is free. All the fab, and paint, so much time involved.
Some black pin stripes down the side, and Dynomax super turbos… love it.
I had those same mufflers on my Vette. What a sound!
The inner section of an el camino bed can be cut out and fitted (key word) to lots of cars. I love this stuff the more body mods the better.
It’s a funeral flower car with the rear chrome trim taken off it.
I like it! Looks well executed. Seems priced right also.
Odds are that this is just a “Flower Car” used by a funeral home, then modified from that point with an updated front grill/headlights, and what appears to be a LT1 motor…..All nicely done, and for $10k not a bad price for the work your buying
No matter the year cars used to execute the finished car/truck I like it for the oddball in me.
In my best “Dumb and Dumber” voice:
“I like it. I like it a lot”
The owner runs a reputable salvage yard/junkyard. His handle is flash.
Maybe it’s a flower car ,maybe its custom.Maybe its a flower car thats been customized. If I had to have a caddy pickup type vehicle I would just look for a true flower car. This is just not doin it for me.
I like it, think they did a great job on this conversion. It would be a hit around here.
I would SOOOOO drive that! And a great color too.
I like it!
I really like it. If I would be buying would want to talk to the builder, as well as look it over top to bottom frt. to rear. All that work and nice paint for 10k. They must have had the fun now are taking the loss to move on.
its red.
Coolest elcamino I’ve seen in recent memory!
Amazing what a little (nicely buffed) red paint can do for a flower car.
Well done. That is the same LT-1 V8 engine that was in my 1994 Buick Roadmaster. 260 HP and I am sure you could add a chip and get more HP.
Good thing, they updated the engine. I owned a 1983 Caddy with the gutless 4100 motor that makes a better boat anchor. If it still had the 4100 engine, it would be worth about $3,000 lol. If I had an extra $10,000, I would be right on this one. I bet it is a blast to drive.
Looks to me like a mirage conversion to
me. I recall a gentleman that goes by
Cereal Marshmallows on youtube having
one of these for sale on his lot in California. I believe they made them from
’74 to ’85 or so. These trucks were awesome provided you didn’t get one with that god awful 4100 V8. Glad to see
this one has the LT 1.engine instead. I
could just see Mother driving this one
although I would re install the chrome
side trim to break up that sea of red
paint.
Love It! Now if I can get a social security increase I may be able to afford it. A beautiful car for the money!
I like it!!! I like it a lot!!!! I’m not usually a “red vehicle” fan but this thing appears tight!!! I would agree with others about doing something to break up the sea of red on the sides. I also agree that if I were to be a buyer, I would definitely want to see the build pics!!! As smooth as it appears, in the limited pics provided, it would appear that a minimum of mud was used?!?! No room at the Inn or I would be putting in a “Purchasing Requisition” to the Purchasing Department!!!! (of course with amount a vehicles I currently have, I don’t see her approving that req) )
