We forget that in certain parts of the USA, there are cars that have never fallen down the slippery slope of becoming a neglected piece of machinery, or a vehicle that is discarded simply because it got old. A young driver didn’t get their hands on it and install poorly-executed modifications, nor did it get driven through snow and slop and rust out from the inside. This 1990 Acura Integra listed here on eBay is a recent charitable donation that presents incredibly well with rust-free bodywork, a clean interior, and all of its original equipment attached. It is currently bid to $3,550 with no reserve.
One detail that always amazes me about these California-region donations is how many vehicles still wear the original dealer plate frame. Time and again, we see cars from this seller with this seemingly minor detail attached. However, I believe this means that many of the cars they receive have been in one owner’s care, or at worst, a long-term second owner’s possession. Why? Well, the dealer plate frame usually gets tossed once a new owner comes along and the plates are swapped off. This Acura still sports its vintage California license platesand the Marin Acura dealer frame.
Inside, the cloth cabin shows barely any wear except for a few spots on the driver’s seat where the bolster gets rubbed. The factory tape deck is still installed and the listing even confirms the air conditioning still works. The dash shows little to no signs of exposure from the sun, and based on how dark and lustrous the black plastic trim still is, I have to believe this Integra spent much of its life indoors. These second-generation Integras are incredibly difficult to find in unmodified and rust-free condition, but California seemingly has plenty of them based on this blue-plate Integra we recently featured.
The updated Integra got a nice boost in power for the second-generation run, with the DOHC 1.8L engine producing a healthy 130 b.h.p. and 121 lb.-ft. of torque. While this one doesn’t stay running without the help of a jump box, the seller only notes a slight misfire in terms of any mechanical concerns, and judging by how clean the engine bay is, I suspect this Acura was maintained for most of its life. These are very fun cars to drive and rarely appear for sale in any condition, let alone one that appears to have never been abused.
