Chevrolet treated the Camaro to a second design (third overall) in 1982, and the car picked up sales momentum. In fact, the little-changed 1984 editions set a sales record at more than 261,000 copies. The seller has a weather-worn ’84 Z/28 with a great interior, but the body shows faded paint, and at least one tire is flat. With the wheels chocked, this Chevy is in Springfield, Virginia, and is available here on eBay. So far, the opening bid of $3,000 is untested.

Other than a dashboard upgrade, the ’84 Camaro differed little from the 1982-83 models. By coincidence, the Corvette was all-new in 1984 and found new buyers, just as the Camaro Z/28 had. Was performance “in” again?. The Z/28 now had a steel hood (were they aluminum before?), and there was no longer a functional air induction system. The media liked what they saw, and Road & Track and Car and Driver both showered the car with accolades, including Best Sports GT and Best Handling.

Nearly 40% or 101,000 units of the 1984 Camaro carried Z/28 equipment and badging. A 4-speed automatic transmission was standard (4-speed manual optional), and two versions of the 305 cubic inch V8 were offered with a 40 hp difference (we don’t know which is in the seller’s car). It’s said to be “all original”, and the photos suggest that’s a fair assessment.

We know nothing of the car’s history except that we’re told it had one previous owner and the odometer reads 61,000 miles. Instead, the seller chooses to use many adjectives (not necessarily accurate) to describe the car. For example, we’re told it’s “a classic coupe with a striking blue exterior color,” while the blue/grey paint is clearly faded and worn. The seller also says it’s “a well-maintained gem,” yet the wheels are chocked, and the tires need air. We’re left to assume it doesn’t run and may need mechanical attention and new paint. On the other hand, the matching interior looks pretty nice.

If this guy is a car salesman he needs to fire himself.
Obviously they need to make an appointment with their ophthalmologist.
