This is our second driver-quality Cadillac Exclusive today! This one is a little less original, but it could be a good bargain for a Caddy guy. It’s located in Baltimore, Maryland and James is asking $6,000. You can contact him here via email if interested. We will let him describe the car’s condition in his own words: Long and straight with top and bottom fins. Great chrome and pearl paint (though not original) highlights body shape well. Able to drive and well on its way to being a show piece or a nice driver.
Good, 10 year old repaint. Cadillac pearl white, rust starting to show on front edge of hood and trailing edge of trunk lid, some blisters on lower side panels. Underneath excellent, body, doors all straight, chrome in excellent condition.
Original engine, converted 12v dc generator to alternator, installed front disc brakes, runs well, factory AC is discharged but parts are in place. New water pump installed. New tires and battery, driven monthly, some on highway.
The interior is original. Drivers seat worn all, other seats very good, like new dash, most electronics work, some interior lights need repair or bulbs, I have a new radio designed to fit into this dash with retro look.(not installed), headliner stained from old rear window leak, leak repaired. Electric seat adjuster works up and down and tilt but front to rear needs repair. electric windows all work . Wood trim on inside doors faded but intact, can be refinished.
If James sends us more photos we will be sure to get them added. If any of you have an old car or even a whole collection that you are thinking about selling, please give us a chance before listing it somewhere else. Thanks for giving us a shot James!
About 20 years ago my boss tried to sell me his car like this for $650.00. It was always garaged, and in good condition. I wasn’t interested then, and I’m not interested now. Not even for $650.00
It may not be your thing, but take a look at what these currently go for and it will make you regret not buying that $650 car.
Francisco is on a roll here !
Don’t interrupt his free fall.
I like 62 Caddies. The aftermarket body side moulding needs to be removed. It ruins the nice lines of this car….
Man,that thing is GORGEOUS!
I love the looks of those ’60 Cads, but would never
want to own one.My Dad had a ’64,with the “Jello-Drive” ride.
I know this is a hefty claim, but I think these were the nicest Caddy’s ever. Had all the right proportions, not like glitzy Caddy’s of the 50’s. Tell you what, if you pulled one of these into your driveway in 1962, there was no question, you were making it. I remember when my old man got his 1st Cadillac ( a ’71, I think) he pulled it out on the street, got out and shouted to our neighbors, “Look everybody, I’ve got a Cadillac”! And he meant it too. ( as we slinked down in the seat) Worth every cent here!
Good 10 year old paint? With surface rust showing on leading and trailing edges? Huh. Pretty nice stead though.
Love those lines on the ’62 Caddy. Better proportioned than the late 50’s.
We need some more pictures to better assess the asking price of $6k.
However, it seems to be in the ballpark with new disc brakes and alternator system.
I think I see color-matched hubcaps on this car. Those were always eye catchers for me. As a small town new car dealer, my Father had to watch the dollars and cents very carefully. When we went to dealer meetings in Kenosha or Detroit he would always make a two day block in Chicago to comb the Oak Park listings for gently used Cadillacs and Lincolns. They were more profitable in north Idaho than Chryslers, Plymouths and Ramblers by far. I didn’t understand it at the time, but I sure do now. Funny how the older I get the smarter he gets. I sure miss him.
Same here, I miss my dad more and appreciate him more as I get older. I’m glad I had him as long as I did even though longer would have been better.
I’m 58 and Dad will be 83 next month, see each other every day. We only had one really bad argument that I remember and I’m pretty sure I was wrong. I learned so much from Dad, the most is respect.
