EXCLUSIVE: 1976 BMW 2002

What Makes It Special? You’re looking at a 1976 BMW 2002 vintage 2-Door sports coupe, very rare 4 speed manual shift, original Verona red car, factory sunroof, have the 4 matching factory wheels, 142K original miles, just spent $2k on factory ac unit that goes with the car, clear title, needs minor things but has a great running engine. These are the pictures I have handy but will be happy to send you more upon request.

Body Condition: Overall body in good shape. Original Verona red car in great shape.

Mechanical Condition: Engine had regular oil changes, and runs great.

With prices for late BMW 2002s climbing like crazy, it makes Ainslee’s ’76 seem like a steal! With a little work and some backdating, this could prove to be a fun driver. So, be sure to contact him via the form below if you’d like more info or to make an offer!

Do you have a classic that you don’t have time for and just want gone? Consider listing it here on Barn Finds so it can go to a good home!

Not sure about the “very rare” 4 speed manual. That’s by far the most common configuration on these.

Four speeds are probably more common than automatics, but regardless, that is a steal of a price.

Nice ride! Bumpers are a killer though. Just bought a BMW Z3 a couple months ago. A ton of fun for sure. Best of luck with this.

So I click on the word “pictures” to look at the car pix supplied by the seller.and I get ads? Is it just me?

Hi Mountainwoodie, I click on the small image above the Contact The Seller. One photo is all.

Was on local Craigslist a few weeks ago for $3900. Flip or seller wised up to current values?

Article mentions “factory ac unit.” I worked for the largest BMW dealer in California 1973 – 1976 and NEVER saw factory air on a 2002 – they all came w/o air and when sold, aftermarket AC by either Frigidaire or Behr was installed in our service department if the buyer wanted AC.

any 2002 is desirable in my book.

    Why??

Thinking about getting back into a 2002 at this point and this one is set up just like my last one, a ‘76 with a sun roof and AC! Dead silence from the seller though. Could it have been the question, “Where does it have rust?” For lack of photos in the listing and the low asking price, it seemed like a fair question.

Link doesn’t work for me, how can I contact seller?

  13. Billy

When the link was live he didn’t answer anyway. So we move on and look for a real sale.
