Fast Past: 1952 Oldsmobile Drag Car

The owner of this 1952 Oldsmobile claims that it was once a drag car and that it even holds the 1974 AHRA Record in X SuperStock. Reader P. Trout sent this in after doing some research, but he was not able to find anything confirming the seller’s statements. Does anyone here remember OldsTimer? It can be found here on craigslist for $5,400. This could end up being a bargain if its colorful history can be proven.

I agree, very cool car. Some could do a light restore without disturbing any of the cool patina and have a really neat, fun car. The price is sure right!

Very nice. I agree with Kevin, clean and somehow seal the rusty spots (like on the roof) and give it a good wash and it would be a favorite in any car show. The price seems reasonable if it’s solid and driveable and if the provenance can be researched and found to be true the value would skyrocket…

After a quick Google search I found that the Oct ’73 issue of Rod & Custom magazine has an article titled “Oldstimer” Does anybody have a copy they can put up scans of??

(Oh and what did we do before Google??) ^o^
