Having to pick a favorite B-Body could prove a difficult task for me, as just about all of them score plenty of points in my book when it comes to great looks. However, if I had to narrow it down to one specifically, it would likely be the 1968 Dodge Charger, as those cool round lights in the back work wonders for making my head turn. With the desirability of the second-generation Chargers still through the roof, these cars seem to have no problem attracting buyers in just about every condition, even those in need of a total restoration. This 1968 Charger here on eBay falls into that category, so if you’ve got a good set of DIY skills, this one might be right up your alley. The Mopar is located in Maiden, North Carolina, with bidding currently resting at $11,000. That’s enough for a sale, so whoever enters the highest amount has bought themselves a project.
The seller tells us he’s selling the Charger for a friend and describes it as a field find, and from the looks of things, this one’s been out in the elements for quite some time. Though it’s thought to be about 90% complete, rust has invaded much of the body, and several of the panels will probably have to be replaced here. Some extra body and engine parts are said to be available at an additional cost, but exactly what can be had isn’t specified, with the seller mentioning to just ask him about what you need.
A missing rear window has helped wreak havoc on the interior, and with my stature, I’d be concerned about falling to the ground trying to get into one of those seats. Just about everything inside is going to need repair, with a few of the dash components actually missing. That’s OK, as they probably wouldn’t have been salvageable anyway, but at least this one was a factory A/C car. We aren’t provided with any photos from the underside, but the frame rails are stated as in need of replacement, as is the trunk pan.
No fender tag is present and the build sheet is long gone. However, the seller states that the drivetrain consists of a 383 and TorqueFlite, which he thinks are original components, and is also willing to check if a potential buyer not knowing for sure is a deal breaker. This one’s past my level to consider for a project, but I’m certain somebody will be glad to acquire this 1968 Dodge Charger and bring it back to life. Could that someone be you?
No.
What’s with these rusty Chargers coming out of the woodwork lately?
My thoughts exactly Rustytech. Nice see thru floors!!
Hey, you know the racer’s advantage – for every pound shaved off, it frees up one pony!
Pulled because of error…
Does someone make steel repo bodies of these? I have just got to believe that the amount of work and money going into something like this is going to be equal to or more then building a brand new body into a working car. Plus, then you have a brand new 1968 Charger., If I were a young man (I am not) and had the financial means, that is what I would do. Modern suspension, engine of my choice. Geared the way I want it. A dream come true.
Just send it to the crusher! Not worth restoring at any purchase price!!
Yeah…what they said ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Says – “This listing was ended by the seller on Sat, Dec 7 at 11:37 PM because there was an error in the listing”.
Yeah, the error was listing the poor thing. It was like exploiting an elderly person. Criminal!
Just put it back to bed and let it finish expiring of natural causes.
No bids! So why was this in the original write up above? – “The Mopar is located in Maiden, North Carolina, with bidding currently resting at $11,000.”
Grave Yard Cars wants it.
